Anderson Manufacturing Debuts NEW 15″ Keymod Free Float Handguard

It was just weeks ago one of our own writers told you why “Keymod Sucks,” but that does not mean the industry has fallen flat and given up on Keymod. It is true that M-LOK is much more popular than Keymod for several reasons outlined in the TFBTV video “Keymod Sucks – Now with More Proof!” In fact, it was over a year ago that we outlined how M-LOK outsells Keymod roughly 3:1. Nevertheless, there are a lot of fans and advocates for Keymod still out there. I personally outfitted my last AR build with a Keymod handguard so I am not a hater on the design by any means. Many manufacturers are pleased to pump out new offerings for the Keymod market.

With all that being said, Anderson Manufacturing has released a new 15″ Keymod Free-Float Handguard. The essential specs can be read below:

    • Lightweight Free-Float Design
    • Machined from 6061-T6 Hardened Aircraft Aluminum
    • MIL-SPEC Type III Hard Coat Anodizing Black Finish
    • Steel Barrel Nut
    • Continuous Top Picatinny Rail
    • Side Facings & Bottom are designed to accept Keymod rail sections
    • Made in the U.S.A
    • Weight: 0.90 Lbs
    • 1 ¼”-18 Thread on Barrel Nut
    • 1.350″ Inside Diameter of Forearm

    Keymod

This handguard comes with the essential steel barrel nut and will feel feathery-light at less than 1 pound. Right now just the Rifle Length handguard (15″) is listed on Anderson Manufacturing’s website, but they have eluded to future offerings in pistol, carbine and mid-length sizes as well.

The Rifle Length 15″ Keymod Free-Float Handguard currently retails for $130.71 on Anderson Manufacturing’s website.
