New Crimson Trace Laser for Springfield Armory XD Mod.2

Crimson Trace has introduced another version of their Laserguard laser sight this time for Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 pistols. The new sight fits all types of XD Mod.2 pistols: the 3″ and 3.3″ barreled Sub-compact models, 4″ Service model and the Tactical model with a 5″ barrel.

The Laserguard doesn’t require any special skills or tools to mount it on the trigger guard of the weapon and can be installed by the end user. It features the Crimson Trace “Instinctive Activation” technology which activates the laser as soon as you grip the handgun and turns it off once you disengage the grip. The sight also has an on/off switch. The Laserguard is powered by either one 1/3N lithium battery or two 357 silver oxide batteries. The battery life is advertised to be over two hours. This laser sight comes from the factory adjusted for 50 feet distance, but it is also possible to further adjust both the windage and elevation. The dot diameter at 50 feet is about half an inch.

Crimson trace also offers the laser sights combined with a Blade-Tech Klipt IWB holster which is designed to accommodate the gun with the laser sight installed.

The MSRP for the red laser version is $229 and for the green laser, it is $309. The holster adds $20 to either version of the Laserguard sight. These sights are also covered by a three-year warranty.

Firearms not politics….Firearms not politics…That’s why we are promoting Springfield products…Firearms not politics.

  • Does Springfield really need an aid to enable shooting oneself in the foot with greater speed and precision?

    • chicago mike

Shhh, you start talking about shooting oneself in the foot and Smith & Wesson will quickly slap a Hillary hole on their Crimson toy laser.

  • Timothy G. Yan

I will pay 30 pieces of silver for that!

  • Raptor Fred

Illuminates in Green or Red treachery.

  • Sur Komm

    Laser zone!

  • BillC

Oooo…. now a Security Guard can get a LASERZONE™ to compliment his GRIPZONE™!

  • Evo Shift

Does everyone else feel like these prices are a F-ing joke? The green laser should sell around $70. I, for one, am telling Crimson Trace to go F themselves.

    • Sianmink

You wanna get a sub-$100 laser go get a Barska, tell me how well that works out long-term.

      • Evo Shift

I just got a brand new Viridian laser for $70, so you’re obviously clueless.

        • Sianmink

What kind of connections have you got? Viridians retail for around $200.

  • Edeco

Darn though, it’s OK looking, matches the style of the pistol.

  • Dr. Longfellow Buchenrad

Id prefer that they made the laser cheaper and the holster more expensive. Ive never used a $20 holster that worked well for any decent period of time.

But that is irrelevant because I own no Springfields and I doubt that will change any time soon.

It’s bad enough that S&W and Ruger products are still being reviewed, bought and hyped!
