I would like to see this fellow test the Buffalo Bore 14E – the 200g hard cast Wadcutter @ 1000fps. Fiocchi isn’t exactly who I’d look to for personal protection ammo.

    • Marc

Also the Cor-Bon DPX load. It’s what I carry in my S&W 296.

      • Chilly Billy

Agreed with both of you. Let’s get some good ammo in this wonderful cartridge so the naysayers can see what it can really do.

  • Bigg Bunyon

Nice write-up as usual, thanks. I’ve always enjoyed loading and shooting the .44 Special starting way back in the early ’70s.

    And … I like your T-shirt. I too am a Firefly fan.

  • Mark Horning

The .44 Spc. Gold Dot load is one of the few that will reliably expand at .44 spc velocity since the bullet is the same construction as their “short barrel” Gold Dots though not marketed as such.

  • Jeff

Save your 4 minutes – results are no expansion and 30+ inches of penetration.

Almost a half inch hole for 30 inches, I still dig it.
