Flag Of The Fallen – Recycled Brass Art Piece

This art piece by HBU Student Jeremiah France senior studio art major in the School of Fine Arts.

“One piece of brass in honor of each American who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan”

It looks like the flag is made of .223 brass. I love how Jeremiah captured the movement of the flag and the torn edges.

Impressive, sobering, and, hopefully, no snarky comments.
Thank you for posting this Nicholas.

    Very cool!

  • M.M.D.C.

    Looks like .223 and 9mm.

    • Blake

.45 for the stars, .40 and 9mm alternating for the stripes, and 5.56 on the edges.

Didn’t realize the scale of it until I watched the video.
Looks as heavy physically as it is mentally.

    That’s simply awesome!

    From elsewhere on the interwebz:

He put over 450 hours of work into silver soldering the brass using .45 caliber casings for the stars and alternating .40 caliber and 9mm casings for the stripes. There also looks to be 5.56mm cases on the edges.
