Steiner Optics was at the NRA Show in a big way, featuring their latest and brand new updates to the DBAL laser light combination units. At the show, they showcased two new models for handguns, the DBAL-PL v2, SBAL-PL v2.

Maintaining the same environmental ratings as the DBAL-A3 used by various militaries, the DBAL-PL continues its well-liked handgun versatility combining four emitters into a single unit. The DBAL-PL includes a visible laser, white-light illuminator, and infrared laser with coupled infrared illuminator. The SBAL features only the visible light and laser. The v2 indicates some significant updates:

“The v2 features include fully programmable and ambidextrous switch functions for single tap, double tap, and press and hold operation. The DBAL-PL® v2 and SBAL-PL® v2 also have five programmable and independent dimming levels for each laser and illuminator.”

The new PL  units are all 100% American designed (Vermont) and made (Ohio) under the ownership of Beretta. Both the DBAL and SBAL units are available with either red or green visible lasers. Retail pricing will float around $899-999 for the DBAL units. SBAL units are around $650.
