Springfield Armory XDE First Look | NRA 17

Just yesterday Springfield Armory introduced the new XDE pistol to the world at NRA’s Annual Meetings in Atlanta. Patrick gets a first look at the new hammer fired double/single action pistol on the show floor. With features like a 8 round single stack magazine and a safety/decocking lever, the new XDE is an interesting addition to the Springfield pistol lineup.

Something is wrong. I wanted to see the video of the new Springfield Armory XDE. Twitter says that the video is unavailable. Either the link doesn’t work,or something is ‘fishy’

    • Gary Kirk

      Are you in Illinois?

      • D

        LOLOLOLOL

      • SJB

        Nevada

        • Gary Kirk

Well, at least you’re in a state that accepts firearms ownership.. You can always just get something different (and should)..

  • JSIII

You should have asked them why Springfield Armory sold gun dealers and owners of Illinois out.

    • Mike

I’m in Illinois. What’s the scoop?

      • JSIII

Go over to the Illinois Guns subreddit on Reddit. TL:DR Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms pulled their opposition to a state dealer licencing bill after gun makers and big box retailers were given a carve out. This throws smaller retailers and all gun OWNERS under the bus.

        • PK

Absolutely outrageous… but blog policy is what it is. They’re not going to acknowledge this, sadly.

        • Mike

          Buncha knobs.

  • RSG

Springfield and RRA are on the permanent boycott/no buy list.

  • D73ᴺᵃᵗᶦᵒᶰᵃˡᶦˢᵗ

I like the way they “carved out” Grip Zone on the PG.

  • D

Springfield Armory is dead to me.

  • Cory Carlson

The firearmblog.com needs to adress this issue and tell us what’s going on at the nra convention.. I know they say “no politics”, but this is more gun industry news rather than a political stance. Or I guess if they won’t adress it I’ll go somewhere else that will.

  • alternator

Springfield Armory, go to hell. Stop giving coverage to an enemy of the Constitution!

  • st381183

I know that TFB is guns not politics but in this instance TFB needs to take a stand. What Springfield and RRA has done in Illinois is wrong and TFB needs to use its platform to ignite social media and declare a boycott of these manufacturers. This ain’t politics, it’s fighting to the Second Amendment for all the gun loving community.

    • st381183

EDIT *fighting to SAVE the Second Amendment

Victim blaming. You should not have to beg or bargain, or collude to preserve yourself.

Then, it should not even be legal to do X, to small shops, but not basspro.

This is all on the state.

    • Paul Rain

Very true. To quote a murdered man- “You boys are wrong”.

    • st381183

I’m a Patreon for TFB and in the lost planner Post they say that they will not be discussing the major news regarding Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms major betrayal of Illinois gun owners. I only give a buck a month but if I don’t see a major post with comments from the offending companies regarding this issue, my buck a month is going to go to someone else. I suggest other Patrons on Patreon do the same. This is an important industry topic and should not be ignored. Time to get off your high horse TFB and start interviewing company reps a give us some legit info.

      • Justin

Without your $12 a year how will they ever survive….

    • Make one exception and you end up making many more. WE will not cover it. I suggest that people who want to know about the situation get it from official sources and not internet rumors.

  • Hoplopfheil

I actually like this as much as it is possible to like something, and still not purchase one.

  • Dickie

Look at that wierdo looking guy at the end of the video.

  • neckbone

Responsible gun owners should boycott Springfield and Rock River Arms if they really care about the second amendment.

  • PTMcCain

I’m never going to buy another Springfield Armory product after they betrayed us all and become traitors to the cause of our freedoms recognized by the USA’s Second Amendment.

  • Jacob

i like this a lot… i have also liked the xd series but not striker fired. i will be getting this gun. it will be my first polymer

  • RGIBBS

Holy cow. You musta handled a completely different one then the lady and I did yesterday. Truly a POS… The trigger pull reminded me of an early keltec or early s&w bodyguard. Controls… maybe ok but who needs a slide safety on a carry piece?

  • AK™

    Springfield’s newest model,the “Judas”,only costs 30 pieces of silver.
