MasterPiece Arms CZ-455 Precision Chassis

As a new owner of a CZ 455 bolt action rimfire rifle that I bought it specifically as a short range precision gun, I am ecstatic to see MasterPiece Arms come up with a dedicated chassis offering. Outfitted with the same features as it’s similar centerfire cousins, The MPA BA appears to be solid and well made with features normally found on the big boys. I especially like the integral bubble level and swappable AR-patterned grips.

Details and pricing can be found in the press release below.

Comer, Ga. – (March 2017) – MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturers of the MPA BA Rifles, Chassis Systems, Defender Pistols and Carbines, Suppressors and MPAR Rifles, is pleased to introduce the MPA BA CZ-455 Chassis. It was developed in response to many requests from MPA’s customers. The chassis is machined on MPA’s CNC Horizontal Machining Centers to exacting tolerances from 6061 aluminum. MPA’s unique pocketing system reduces weight and increases structural integrity of the chassis. At an astonishing 2.7 lbs. with no recoil pad, the BA CZ-455 Chassis will provide an excellent platform for the CZ-455 barreled action.

“You called us, you emailed us, you wanted it and we listened. We’re happy to say the MPA BA CZ-455 Chassis is here. We take pride in our handcrafted American built rifles and to us the CZ-455 chassis isn’t just another chassis, it’s a painstakingly created work of art. It’s a masterpiece,” said Phil Cashin, president of MasterPiece Arms.

As with MPA’s BA Chassis, the BA CZ-455 will provide the shooter with the ability to adjust the length of pull, cheek riser position, add side Picatinny rails or a night vision bridge, as well as increase the distance from the spigot mounted bipod to the rear support. The MPA produced buttstock includes an adjustable length of pull, recoil pad with height and cant adjustment, adjustable cheek riser and an adjustable monopod. The length of pull and cheek position are locked in place via a set of screws that are embedded into the buttstock body. It provides very strong lockup of the cheek riser plate and recoil plate assembly.

The BA monopod system can also be added along with the buttstock mounted bag rider attachment. The MPA bubble level system is included as standard equipment.

In before any “Masterpiece Arms makes junk!” comments. 21 of the top 100 PRS shooters in 2016 used an MPA chassis, second only to Manners stocks.

What about the MDT chassis? You save over $200 and around a pound in weight and get the benefit of being able to use ar15 style stocks.

The money and weight are benefits, not really sure how being able to use an ar stock is much of a benefit. I’m not aware of any that do anything this one doesn’t already do that wouldn’t eat into the weight or money savings.

With something like a luth AR stock you get adjustable cheek rest and length of pull while still saving money, with the ar15 stocks you can get a lot more options and customization.
