It would have been much more amusing to watch the string being pulled out of the creek without the 1500.00 TRP still tied to the end. How fast can someone dive into the creek after any pistol? And has it happened before?

  • Uniform223

*looks around for glock owners to start commenting smack*

I’ve always wanted a Springfield TRP. Brand spanking new, it’s too rich for my blood but it always seemed worth it. If I can find one used, I’m all in.

  • Gary Kirk

1911 post that’s somewhat positive.. This could get interesting..

  • Don Ward

I am annoyed that this was just a solid review of a firearm that appeared to perform well, leaving little opportunity for me in the content section to mock, disagree with or make fun of anything.

    • Marc

I found James’ shirt to be larger than usual. It was downright baggy on him.

      • Hoplopfheil

Maybe he’s cutting weight, or maybe it was a freebie.

I can’t imagine he’d spend his own money on a shirt that loose!

        • Marc

Curious…….I was hoping James would take the bait.

      • Dougscamo

Ah! But he made up for it with the shorts!
Really surprised Iksnilol hasn’t weighed in yet….maybe his reputation as International Assassin has caught up to him!

        • Marc

Oh, those were shorts? I thought he had a bandana wrapped around his waist.

  • tony

I’ve decided to not purchase a 1911 as a fashion statement, nice pistol though

    • Marcus D.

then buy one because shooting 45 acp out of a full size 1911 is an experience that one should have in one’s life….as often as possible.

  • John Zie

Didn’t really note many upgrades from previous years except the grey color. Were there any? I have one and everything is the same except that it’s the original black color…

  • conrad

I can sure live without the ambi (gets in the way), front strap checkering (collects dirt), and milled rails (sometimes the Surefire just doesn’t fit), as well as the color. I would kick that one out of bed for eating popcorn as well for the 1911 is the sum of its many parts. I haven’t seen a grown man cry when he drops a Glock or thought twice when the gun is impounded after a shooting. 15 hundred bucks was a lot 10 years ago, not so much now when you look over other custom offerings. None-the-less, I like this guy and think his reviews are pretty good.

    • mazkact

I have Grape Ape sized hands and take a High hold so the wrong sided safety always digs into the index finger knuckle of my right hand. I’ve bought ambi safety models only to remove the ambi safety.

  • Hoplopfheil

I just want everybody to know that I liked gray before it was cool, and I’ll continue to like gray after it’s not cool anymore.

Swamp water Hydrilla lube folks its Green, cfc and gluten free

  • Dickie

I agree i like the grey trend. This and the sig legion and the px4 with grey slide. Much better than baby poop fde.

    • TJbrena

I like FDE, but I’ll admit some companies do make a lighter shade more similar to what we used to make our parents clean up.

Gray being added to the mix is nice, though.

  • Spencerhut

TRP’s have had adjustable night sights for several years. So glad their sponsors supplied some of the worst quality ammo available on the planet to run through a nice gun. Well at least it ate that junk.
Favorite feature is the grey? JTFC some seriously lame stuff is passing for a review these days.
