Reminiscent of Robert Rodriguez’ Planet Terror, this guy had a prosthesis made to look like an AR15.

If you look closely at the AR15 styled prosthesis, it does not look like it is a real gun.

The grip and selector switch stand out and do not look right. The selector switch looks like it is molded onto the receiver. There also appears to be some sort of tube attached to the bottom of the grip.

I am curious what he used to make this prosthetic and wonder how well it works as an artificial leg. He should team up with the Nerf Machinegun arm guy and have a custom nerf machine gun leg. Or a working AR-15 leg just for use at the range.

  • Anonymoose

    dat thermold tho.

  • M-dasher

Its a paintball gun….you can see the CO2 port on the bottom of the grip

  • G B

I’m pretty sure it’s a paintball gun judging by what looks to be an ASA at the bottom of the pistol grip. If it was real I wonder what the ATF would have to say about it… Does attaching your body to an AR15 pistol receiver extension constitute a weapon “redesign”? Maybe only if someone shoulders him?

    • b0x3r0ck

I’m pretty sure it’s is a leg brace and is working as intended. Personally I would have went with the AR57 easier reloads.

      • DW

Invert the ar15 to “top load” bren style config, enjoy fast reload and fullpower rounds.

    • Phillip Cooper

      what is an ASA?

      • G B

Apparently a moderator disapproved my first response. Probably because it contained a lmgtfy link and was kinda smart alecky. Anyways, it stands for Air Source Adapter and it is the threaded port on a paintball gun where you screw in the compressed air tank.

        • Phillip Cooper

ah, thanks. FYI, I did indeed gts, fyvm, but in my world an ASA is a firewall.

Was it really so hard to type “where the air screws in”?

  • TheNotoriousIUD

    At least hes not armless.

  • Jim Slade
    • Vhyrus

There are not nearly enough ar15s, 1911s, or corvettes in that picture… or bikini girls while we’re on it.

      • USMC03Vet

No cheeseburgers, hotdogs, or Labrador Retrivers?

        • Vhyrus

Ironic that none of those things are actually american?

          • .45

Well, Kim Jong Il (or was it Un? Can’t keep track…) Invented the hamburger. I know so, ’cause he said so, and a supreme being wouldn’t lie…

          • Asgard928

You would be right except for one fact; America being the so-called melting pot that it is adopts stuff from other countries at the same time it adopts their people so it becomes American too. Hahaha…

        • Phillip Cooper

Why do you hate Australian Shepherds?

          • Suppressed

            Because they’re not German Shepherds.

And they have way too much energy for a dog that intelligent.

          • Phillip Cooper

            Try living with one! πŸ™‚

        • Jayste

Labrador retrievers are not the real Americans dog the American pit bull terrier is the real American dog.

He decided to go full mall ninja all the time.

    • More than likely it is being done just for grins. That little point isn’t a very effective foot.

      • Phillip Cooper

Clearly, you’ve never heard of pirates…..

  • roguetechie

    At least he’s got optics…

    Shoot your prostheses responsibly people!

  • Ralph Napier

This guy is bearing arms in places no man has beared before.

    • QuadGMoto

      or … bared arms?

    • iksnilol

No, he’s baring legs, not bearing arms.

  • Phillip Shen

    Now that’s jumping the gun.

    • disqus_fikVYdMc0U

Snowflakes will get triggered. This pleases me.

  • Rick Grimes

I’m an engineer and I have always wanted to design prosthetic limbs…think bluetooth, LEDs, activity tracking, utility devices/tools, and cool factor. Trying to make prosthetics look “human” is such a waste! Full cyborg or bust…

Guns for leggies, not just armies. (Groan)

  • marathag

The Scotsman from Samurai Jack did the Leg gun better than Grindhouse

    • Phillip Cooper

      Thank god he wore drawers…

He’s CLEARLY not an actual Scotsman. Thank god.

      • marathag

Well, was Cartoon Network, after all.

        • Phillip Cooper

.. the home of Adult Swim.
          Statement remains.

  • Jim_Macklin

Some rookie, bloomberg cop, will shoot him.
Shorten the extension and add a bayonet. A carbon fiber AR would be lighter in weight.
The magazine could be a radio and smartphone.
    THANK YOU for your service.

    • Phillip Cooper

What makes you think he served?

  • Martin GrΓΈnsdal

California just banned prosthesis looking like rifles.

  • jerry young

Looks real enough too me, I have a Mossberg 22 that supposed to look like an AR but looks less like one than this guys leg, most people get them painted or tattooed, I admire this guys choice who knows maybe he does have a leg iron that is a real gun.

  • Corey D Morris

It’s a paintball gun, you can see the tank adapter on the bottom of the grip.

  • tiger

Good grief… The rest of the world must think we have lost our minds on guns?

    • nate

who cares, I think the rest of the world lost their minds on other things a long time ago

    • Jayste

The rest of the world has lost there right to own guns

  • L. Roger Rich

That was a horrible movie…LOL I think the guy is kind of special.

  • Sias Fourie

Wowww, I was just wondering how he would engage targets 12h00? heheheheheh

  • Mazryonh

Does the wearer call the leg gun “Cherry Darling”? That’s the name of the character in the Planet Terror poster.

  • Mikial

How is it a big deal if there are some details on the artificial leg that don;t quite match and actual AR? It’s pretty cool, so leave it at that.

  • Donald Woods

It is a paintball marker. As an amputee should he been seen as sitting in a wheelchair or using crutches? Or could he be seen as expressing himself?
