Line-O-Site: Clamp On Crosshair Front Sight

One of the unique items Keith had in his machine shop was this clamp on Line-O-Site. It is a very basic cross hair that bolts onto the barrel of a rifle. Have any of our readers used one of these before? It seems so simple but I am curious how effective it is to just standard iron sights. I also wonder what calibers this could be used on. I would probably only use it on rimfire rifle.

My immediate thought was for a shotgun. Its like an AA sight for duck hunting

This reminds me of those KNS duplex front sights. They work nice as a front sight. This looks more like an assist to help new shootersget used to finding a proper sight picture, but it could work for that as well, provided you don’t bump it on anything.

Interesting, want to try it on a Nintendo Zapper.

Any plans for a rail base?

Take a look at the wooden box and paperwork this thing came in. It’s clearly a historical piece and no longer made. Dockendorff is long out of business.

Remarkably ahead of their time. If they’d had TFB back then, it probably would have been a raging success, and red dots would never have been invented! Only hangup w/ this that I can see is how do you zero?

  • Reminds me of something from Borderlands.

I want to put one on the barrel shroud of my Browning 1919. I wonder if they have a large size?! 🙂

If it was low cost… might be fun on a Sterling Sporter …

    Steampunk red dot sight xD

Actually I don’t see much use for this…

Looks like a better “reflex” sight for the pipe weapons of Fallout 4

    A VC Anti-aircraft sight
