Henry 1000 Man Shoot 2017 —This Year They Are Going For Many More Shooters!

Most of you recall that Henry put on a 1000 man shoot last November with the goal of getting 1000 shooters on the firing line and breaking the record for the largest number of shooters on the firing line at one time.

Well Henry is going to do it again and top the number of shooters they had on the firing line last year. As quickly as people signed up for the open slots last year I doubt they’ll have much trouble beating last years number. To sign up follow this link–

There will be more details released as they get closer to the event. After watching the documentary it looked like a fun time for everyone!

I’m pretty sure having 1000 people fire simultaneously has been done before. The Revolutionary War and Civil War come to mind, in addition to World War I, in particular.

As a single volley? Maybe, maybe not.

It certainly is an interesting question: what was the largest volley every fired? And more difficult to find the answer than I thought.

Because of the difficulty of command and control, I am doubtful of any single volley larger than battalion size, which would be no more than 1,000 shooters.

I forgot the name of it, but the last substantial battle during the civil war featured more than 10,000 union folks assaulting a dig in confederate position. I saw a documentary years ago saying that was one of the largest, simultaneous assaults. Volley fire during the 3 wars I mentioned was standard. I imagine there were portions of the line during world war 1 where there were easily thousands firing on a single command. I’d like to see what Henry is basing their claim on. Now, with all that being said, I love what Henry did and got chills when watching the 30 minute documentary on the event. I hope this next event has 100,000 wanting to participate. If for no other reason than that large 2A groups can make an impression on legislators.

“I imagine there were portions of the line during world war 1 where there were easily thousands firing on a single command.”

If so that event should be easy to find. It isn’t proving easy to find.

Volley fire with repeating rifles apparently loomed larger in theory than in actual military practice.

      • I hear rumors of at least 1500 shooters this time. We shall see.

  • gordon

Kind of a dorky publicity stunt. I suppose it is one of those ‘feelz’ events for the participants too.

Pretty disappointed B.O’s anti firearm EO’s have not been reversed and pro gun legislation has not occurred.

What does your post have to do with the topic???????

Give me a loading gate, and I’m in there like swimwear.

    • ozzallos .

Add a loading gate and they’ed instantly destroy all the remlin line. I mean complete market domination.

And yet another commemorative Henry is added to the rolls.
    /enthusiasm sufficiently curbed.
