Daniel Defense: DDM4V7 & DD5V1 Now in Tornado Cerakote & MIL SPEC +

Daniel Defense

Two of Daniel Defense’s rifles are getting some color upgrades. Both the DDM4V7 and the DD5V1 will now be available in a Tornado Cerakote (grey color scheme) and MIL SPEC + (bronze color scheme). Both the Tornado Cerakote and MIL SPEC + colors are staple offerings in the Daniel Defense line of rifle models. It is a simple change or upgrade, but everybody likes a little variety or deviation from the run-of-the-mill black once in awhile.

For those unfamiliar with Daniel Defense, here is a quick rundown of each model with its new color offerings.

The DDM4V7 is a brand new model for 2017 and it is off and running with 3 color offerings. The DD5V1 on the other hand has been around quite awhile. It is just now getting some more curb appeal. Both are great rifles if you can afford them. Daniel Defense just thought they needed a touch of color.

The outdoors, fitness and anything related to firearms are my passions. I am a S&W Armorer, Glock Armorer, reloader and am coping with an addiction to classic S&W and Colt revolvers (by buying more revolvers). I’ve been a guest writer for Sierra Bullets and love long walks to the gun range.

  • Jan Moszczuk

I bought one when they were only black… #blackarpride

    • Juggernaut

KY Gun Co had the m4v7 a few weeks ago for $1300 delivered – I am kicking myself for not buying one

      • Mark Spencer

        That should tell you something.

(No offense intended toward the actual KY Gun Co.)

  • TheNotoriousIUD

Say what you will but DD makes some nice looking weapons.

    • MIke H

Yeah, cosmetically, the MIL SPEC+ looks pretty…

I was thinking of getting my older style DDM4v3 Cerakoted in foliage, this is making me reconsider.

Ill continue to struggle along with my welfare boomstick.

I didn’t know you could buy firearms with an EBT debit card. My taxes supporting your shooting habit is not appropriate. I’ll have to talk with DJT

          • kazetsukai

Actually, if EBT cards can be used that way I’d say its money well spent. Compared to the junk food and other garbage?

    • Suppressed

I wanted to knock them, maybe it was just to make myself feel better about not being able to justify purchasing one. You know, tell myself I can build one better and cheaper or something like that. Then I finally decided to put my dickbeaters on one and realized my ignorance, they just instantly conveyed quality to me.

I kinda feel like they’re something like the Porsche of the AR world. A decent portion of the people who buy them (but definitely not all) have more money than the average bear, bought them mainly on the name, and can’t drive/shoot these machines to near their potential. But at the end of the day, DD makes fine rifles, Porsche makes fine cars, and even though my money would probably go towards different manufacturers’ offerings, I’m still a salty little hater who’s kinda jealous because I don’t have either one.

      • TheNotoriousIUD

        You pretty much covered it.
        They look/feel like quality.

      • Uniform223

You get what you pay for. So many people knock high price 1911s like Ed Brown, Night Hawk, and Wilson Combat… But Jesus. They’re just so well built with attention to detail and passion.

  • nate

what ever happened to they can have any color they want as long as it is black?

    • Juggernaut

Variety is the spice of life- that’s why I own 2 pairs of underwear

      • Adam Scepaniak

That gets you through 4 days of the week… 2 pairs and turn them inside-out once each ?

  • GhostTrain81

    (insert philosoraptor meme)

If something is Milspec+… does that mean it’s out of spec?

  • The_Champ

I have a little older quad rail Daniel Defense rifle as my only modern military rifle among all of my oldies. No doubt it is quality gun, but I have been tempted to replace it with an old, slab sided Colt SP1.
