MAXIM 9 Holsters | SHOT 2017

At the SilencerCo booth, they have two holsters for the MAXIM 9. One looks and functions like a Blackhawk Serpa and they have a custom molded Kydex holster. These were made to dispel ideas that the Maxim 9 is too big to be holstered. AIWB holsters on the other hand might not work.

Also I spoke with Willie of SilencerCo and she told me that the Morse Code texture are SilencerCo slogans like “Fight The Noise” and other suppressor related phrases.

In before the Serpa haters. Serpa is fine, train better.

What is the problem with Serpas? retention? the release on the holster may cause them to put finger in trigger guard after draw?

      • Twilight sparkle

Everyone just hates serpa holsters because if that one James Yeager fan that… well in his own words “I Just F ing Shot Myself”
Personally I like that I can actually get a proper grip on the handgun when drawing from serpa holsters which is something other retention holsters fail at

It was from people not indexing properly while drawing their Glocks. James Yeager has re-allowed SERPAs at his classes recently, but I assume he yells at people who don’t index properly.

Damn, I was hoping that ugly ass grip texture was just an artifact of it being in the final stages of prototyping and that the final version would look better. But if its some kind of inside joke they think is clever then I guess its what we are getting. Seems a shame to ruin the sleek look of the gun with such an irregular series of hash marks.

      Subliminal texturing… ooooooooo….

AIWB is doable. I have customers who carry Glock 34’s. The short maxim 9 is .8 inch longer than the 34. It’s roughly the size of the 34 with a Surefire x300 Ultra. The 1.58inch shouldn’t be to much of an issue if you carry at 12 and don’t mind the bulk.

Morse… bleh. They should have used Braille. #FightTheNoise

Won’t the suppressor be much hotter than a non-suppressed handgun, possibly melting the holster?

    • Nicks87

What’s wrong with letting it cool off before holstering?

Now you can should yourself in the leg without earpro
