New Colt Handguns: Cobra Revolver, Delta Elite, Gold Cup 1911 | SHOT 2017

In this episode of TFBTV, James visits Colt in Day 1 of the SHOT Show Expo.  Colt is re-launching their revolver line with the 6-round, small-frame, all-steel Cobra revolver.  Also, Colt is re-invigorating the 10mm legend, the Delta Elite, with a formal re-launch and an additional model with a picatinny rail dust cover. Finally, Colt is taking aim (pun intended) at the tournament shooter market with the relaunch of the Colt Gold Cup, which is, of course, based on a Series-70 platform.

I like my Colt WC LW Commander at 1000 dollars, but I’ll never be able to justify 1699 on a Gold Cup. I’m hoping that when Colt gets to their .357 and .44 mag revolvers down the road, they’ll stay as reasonable as their Cobra’s with price options.

  • JumpIf NotZero

Wasn’t there already a Colt video up today? One gun, three shot show videos?

    • DataMatters

Well, this one has a guy in a pinstripe suit, so there’s that.

      • Dr. Longfellow Buchenrad

Hes got the suit, hes got the accent, and hes got the old colt revolver. Hes got to be mafia.

  • Don Ward

Judging by the amount of coverage, Colt getting back into the snake-gun revolver business is the top story of Shot Show right now.

    As it should be.

  • Spencerhut

How did you miss the 1903 Colt? That was waaaaaaayyyy cooler that that stupid revolver rehash POS.

    • tazman66gt

So, you are going to complain about the Cobra being a rehash by bringing up another rehash? OK, you are an idiot.

      • Spencerhut

That revolver sucked 100 years ago and still does. The 1903 is a masterful piece, and has been for over 100 years. So you are the idiot.

        • tazman66gt

You are only proving your stupidity, the Cobra was brought out in 1950, so it hasn’t been our for 100 years. Quit while you’re behind, only more stupidity can be shown from you with a response.

          • Spencerhut

It sucked then, it sucks now. . . . You are still an idiot.

          • tazman66gt

So, you can’t refute facts so instead you run away calling me an idiot, I expect nothing less.

  • Madcap_Magician

Colt actually innovated a little bit. I think my heart skipped a beat. I don’t like that they took the Cobra name instead of the Detective Special, even if I do understand the Snake gun consistency, for their ‘line’ of small-frame revolvers (please let there be a line), but I do like that nifty bit about easy sight swaps with an Allen key. That’s a respectable and ingenious improvement over typical revolver sights.

Well boys I love pistols and revolvers.. am the only one who sees sharp edges all over that Colt “Cobra”? Rock Island makes a nice kind of a clone of a Trooper with either a 2 or 4 inch barrel. Last year I bought the four inch gun, I love it. It too has sharp edges and kind of reminds me of a “victory” revolver being parked and kind of a war finish like WWII Webleys.Point is you can buy two of the Rock Island revolvers and a bunch of ammo for the price of the cobra. I’ve banged a lot of plates with mine in the last year and it still locks up tight and is timed perfectly.
