Kalashnikov’s New 9mm and 12 Gauge AK-47s | SHOT 2017

Obviously keying in on the newest trends in tactical sporting rifles and carbines, Kalashnikov is releasing 9mm AK47s that will use proprietary magazines (inexpensive at $30), obviously to compete with the MPX, CZ Scorpion, and the host of 9mm AR15s that have sprung up over the past few years. Similarly, to wrest control of the 12 Gauge AK-platform shotgun market from Saiga and VEPR, Kalshnikov is introducing a Saiga-mag compatible semi-auto AK-platform shotgun. Check the video for more details.

Did you perhaps find out if they are finally going to release that AK Alpha? I hope they make good rifles here, been a couple manufacturers lacking as of late with domestic AKs. Hope those 9mm rifles are good they sure look great

  • Rob

The rep looked like he realized he didn’t know how to adjust the stock on the shotgun after he went for it and moved on hoping no one noticed….

Someone needs to make a cringe compilation from SHOT 2017.
Kind of like what Crowbcat on youtube does with gaming cons.

  • Malthrak

So, they’ve been bouncing around the last couple or three shot shows, but have they ever actually produced and sold anything? I can’t recall seeing products of theirs anywhere. I could just not be aware of stuff, but it seems like the only time they ever pop up is…shot show.

pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, the great and powerful oz has sppppppoooooooken!!! maybe they just waiting for EOs to go away? lets go sell fords in russia and see how well that works out for us…. so weird.

  • Green Hell

Okay, i’m actually curious what is their connection with Kalashnikov Russia? It’s under sanctions, but there’s obviously something, because they use the name and logo and their 9mm looks like a very close copy of an original Russian Saiga-9 (Vityaz SN), the mag, magwell, bolt assembly and dust cover look just the same and it’s relatively new design. If that’s the case, why aren’t they going to make new production Saiga-12-30’s with Vepr style magwell and bolt-hold-open?

    • iksnilol

None, they just stole the name.

      • J.T.

Yep, and if the sanctions ever get lifted and Kalashnikov Concern is able to import their guns again, these fools will probably be in quite a bit of hot water over their use of the name.

        • iksnilol

Not really. Real Kalashnikov is old school.

Fake Kalashnikov will experience a bad fever, then die in bed two weeks later.

  • Texas-Roll-Over

It’s all vapor ware. Every gun on the wall was gunsmith-ed together and after 3 years of bs, they’re still not in production. It’s all BS.

The alpha is nothing more than a stamped, barreled, receiver, gunsmith-ed into a plastic overmold. There is no functional difference between it, and an AKM.

Don’t forget to stop by the booth and get badgered by the guy that looks like Eddy Van Halen and smells like he ate garbage for breakfast. He said his name was Jay Putz or something, but he seriously smelled like feces and was more worried about hitting on the booth babes than selling product.

Pathetic excuse for an AK company.

  • Tierlieb

Hmmm. Who wants compatibility to Saiga mags if you could have Vepr mags instead?

  • diana pierce

Well well here’s that pesky ole 9mm carbine again… so why is it that so many major gun makers are now making so many diverse 9mm carbines? …. still waiting for Ruger to stop stuttering.

  • maodeedee

Are they going to make one in 10mm?

  • MrBrassporkchop

Why are they making new guns when they haven’t even started selling guns from the past few shows?

As far as I know they haven’t produced a single gun ever since they started a few years ago.

  • CaptAwesome

I hope to Kalashnikov that the 9mm is decent, I want a PP 19 replica.
