Vortex Optics – Flare Illuminated Bubble Level | SHOT ´17

Vortex are busy at the moment with a lot of new products.

The Flare Illuminated Bubble Level – let’s call that FIBL for short – is their latest release and it’s not an optic.

I would probably call it a premium bubble level, perfect for any long range shooter with some spare Picatinny rail left. It helps if you love gadgets as well, but as you clicked on this link I’m sure you do.

The FIBL is easy to mount and remove on your Picatinny and it’s low-signature. Removing the FIBL won’t change your normal scope at all. It’s ambidextrous, so you can mount the bubble on either side of your rail and still get the illumination towards you.

The FIBL works in the dark as well, with a push button LED with three different brightness levels so you can adjust the intensity. Trying to hit a target in the dusk with too much light going straight into your eyes is probably not a winning idea.

If you’re still interested you’re probably interested in the price as well.

Now, here’s where we run into trouble as Vortex has set a MSRP of no less than 199.99 USD.

Before it’s even been released, it’s already available for 149.99 USD.

    PRICE

That’s quite a lot for some machined aluminum, a lamp, a button and a bubble level. I’m probably ending up buying one anyway, but I would have hoped for a price closer to half.

    In Vortex words:

Everything you ever wanted in a level. Low-signature, rear-facing illumination with three intensity levels ensures optimal visibility in all light conditions. The recessed push-button control is easily accessed from a shooting position. The integrated Picatinny rail mount attaches easily and keeps the level low and trim. It can be mounted and removed with the riflescope on or off your rifle.

Here’s a product video to show the fucntions.
