Caldwell released a new universal pistol magazine loader as part of the Mag Charger line. Magazine loaders are a popular accessory. Speed loaders sell well to the new shooter that has trouble stuffing rounds into high cap mags and also the seasoned shooter that has many magazines to load and needs to give the thumbs a break from loading.

S&W had the Caldwell Mag Charger Universal Pistol Loader at SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range and after getting my hands on one I will confirm that it is surprisingly adjustable, easily switching from loading S&W M&P Shield magazines to S&W M&P 2.0 Magazines. The actual loading of the rounds into the magazine is indeed as easy as inserting the round into the port and cycling the lever. The lever is a two-stage affair that pushed the round down into the magazine and then back in the feed lips with a distinct second stage.

The Caldwell Mag Charger Universal Pistol Loader will work for single stack and double stack magazines and it will accommodate 9mm Luger, 10mm, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, .45 GAP, and .45 ACP caliber pistol magazines. The Mag Charger uses a fairly simple-looking drop-the-bullet-in-and-squeeze-the-lever loading action to insert the cartridges into the magazine.
