What Do You Want To See From SHOT 2017?

    Dear Readers,

Once again, the time is upon us to head out to the Sands Expo in Las Vegas so that we can slog through the endless lanes filled with guns, gear, and schwag. We do this for you the readers, to bring you news of the upcoming highlights for the next year from the gun industry.

Last year we did this same post and it was very helpful to hear about the topics that you are interested in, and if there are any questions we can answer for you. Again, I’m going to compile your requests from the comments into some of my punch list.

Like every year, we should have pretty good coverage (though we will obviously not be able to cover 100% of the show). And we even get some extra time at Range Day to get even MOAR coverage.

My personal focus this year is going to be around precision long range, and anything that supports that. I will also be focusing on training tools, from dry-fire to live-fire.

I do already have a few interviews set up, but will pick as many of your requested topics as I can to fill in gaps in my schedule.

You can get an idea for who is going to be at SHOT by checking out their website (http://shotshow.org/) under the “Exhibitors” section.

What do YOU want to see from SHOT?  I will also consider requests to NOT cover certain things (“Please, Tom, DO NOT cover XYZ, no one wants to see another post about it ever.”). If you request me to cover anything in Flat Dark Earth (or Sniper Gray, or really anything recycled to have a “hawt” new color) I will ask Phil to ban you… 🙂

I will compile my list on Sunday the 15th and work from there. After that point this post will likely be on page 122.

    Thanks,
    Me

Tom is a former Navy Corpsman that spent some time bumbling around the deserts of Iraq with a Marine Recon unit, kicking in tent flaps and harassing sheep. Prior to that he was a paramedic somewhere in DFW, also doing some Executive Protection work between shifts. Now that those exciting days are behind him, he teaches wilderness medicine and runs an on-demand medical staffing business. He hopes that his posts will help you find solid gear that will survive whatever you can throw at it–he is known (in certain circles) for his curse…ahem, ability…to find the breaking point of anything.
