TFB’s 12th Day Of Christmas: Long Guns

Finally, we have reached the 12th and final day of the TFB Christmas series. As I stated from day one, very few of the the guns and gear listed over the last week and a half were new or previously unseen. My goals were simple: lay out presents that are fun to both give and receive. Hopefully there was something for everyone. In many cases, like mine, it’s fun just to dream.

Initially I planned the final day to be rifles only, but the last thing I want to do is alienate scattergun lovers on Christmas Eve and the first day of Hanukkah. Truth be told, I could have filled pages upon pages of shoulder-fired guns that I’d love to have Santa deliver on Christmas morning. I guess I view these high-dollar long guns the same way I do the Christmas season – the anticipation is almost better than the end result.

Which is one reason i enjoy writing for TFB so much. By researching new firearms and products, I get to live vicariously through all of you.

Enough narrative from me. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and have a safe and happy new year.

Knight’s Armament SR-15 E3 Carbine – $2300 (EST)

The SR-15 E3 Mod 2 series’ 5.56 mm NATO barrel is manufactured for military grade durability, and is free-floated inside a URX4 M-LOK handguard. An improved E3 round-lug bolt design both enhances function and increases bolt life far beyond the industry standard. The ambidextrous bolt release, selector lever, and magazine release offers left-handed users the ergonomic advantages inherent to AR15-based controls. The drop-in two-stage trigger serves double duty as an aid to precision marksmanship while enabling surgical speed shooting at close range. The 5.56 mm 3-Prong Flash Eliminator interferes with propellant gas combustion forward of the muzzle to significantly reduce flash signature, will not ring upon firing or when struck, and is compatible with the Knight’s line of 5.56 mm QDC Signature Reduction Devices.

  • it’s just Boris

I would like to give a bump to K&M Arms. I have one of their bullpups in 5.56 and it is probably the most fun to shoot of any rifle in that caliber I have tried. Every time I take it to the range it spends about as much time in other people’s hands as mine, for what that’s worth.

    • Pete – TFB Writer

Looks fun. Hit refresh. Merry Christmas.

    • iksnilol

That sounds horrible. I mean, that gun is gone get so much mileage on it, while only a fraction of it is from you enjoying it.

      Goodness gracious, I’m sorry.

    • billyoblivion

Yeah, I had a girlfriend like that once.

  • Major Tom

On the 12th day of Christmas I got from TFB.

You did these in the wrong order. Today should have been Suppressors.

    Why?

    Silent night.
    Holy Night,
    All is calm

    Round yon target
    Shooter and spotter…

  • JustAHologram

Surprised not to see a 10-22 or model 60 just because of how fun they are

    • Pete – TFB Writer

First one is a 10-22 based rifle.

  • gunsandrockets

Looking at those prices, one thing becomes crystal clear; I must be one of the poorer members of the gun-culture!

    • Pete – TFB Writer

I just like to window shop.

  • Bill

And of all of these, Santa will be gifting me exactly none.

    • Pete – TFB Writer

      • Big Kat

The only models they have in stock are there “krink” models that have been sitting there for almost a year.

        • Pete – TFB Writer

Call. They should have them and others in stock.
Tell them Santa sent you. Merry Christmas!

My shooting buddy had to return that exact Tac Sol model. It wouldn’t feed anything and continually malfunctioned.
