New LS22 Rimfire Chassis from MDT

Canadian manufacturer Modular Driven Technologies has announced their new LS22 chassis for rimfire rifles.

The most obvious feature for a chassis like this is compatibility with AR-15 furniture, but MDT says the V-shaped bedding of their system can increase accuracy of your factory rifle by up to 21%. That’s a pretty specific number, so I’d love to read more about how they got it.

The barrel also becomes free-floated with this system, and can accommodate heavy barrels up to 1″ in diameter. One of the big changes with these rimfire versions is that you can continue to use your factory magazines. Most chassis systems require you to switch to an ACIS pattern magazine when feeding your standard Rem700 or Tikka T3.

There are versions of the new LS22 chassis that will fit:

    • Ruger American
    • CZ 455
    • Browning T-Bolt
    • Savage Mark II
    • Anschutz Match 54
    • Anschutz Match 64

Right now the LS22 is only available in right handed configuration and Black or FDE, but based on their previous offerings a left-handed version shouldn’t be too far off.

There are a few notes specific to different rifle models too. Namely that Savage Mark II, CZ 455 and Ruger American can still use their iron sights, but that the T-Bolt and the Ruger American will need some extra OEM components to fit the chassis.

You might recognize MDT from Remington’s Model 700 Tactical Chassis rifle or Mossberg’s MVP LC rifles. They essentially produce a heavy and light chassis for every major bolt gun model under the sun, and have seen adoption by many manufacturers.

But the still sell aftermarket chassis systems to the public. The LS22 is apparently available now for $399 CAD ($299 USD)
