I just finished a competition in .22LR IPSC Rifle, or so called “Mini Rifle”, so much fun!

My rifle is a JP Enterprises 22 (Nordic Components) which is very similar to my JP .223 Rem.

It’s great for training, and cutting the ammunition cost while still getting very close to “the real thing.”

I bought a pack of 1 000 rounds of CCI to train and to get me through the match (some 200+ rounds minimum).

When filling up the magazine with 22LR, you always get a lof of wax and lead on your fingers, not a very nice or healthy thing. Next thing you know, you’re eating and getting the unhealthy stuff in your mouth. You can get away with the dirt if you use copper plated ammunition, but they weren’t very accurate in my rifle and I felt like winning the Championship time. And using gloves just makes it impossible to load a small rimfire.

To my surprise, all of a sudden I was half ways through the box. It felt like I just had shot maybe 100 rounds, but I was quickly through 500s, and had to stop to keep me safe for the match.

I couldn’t believe how quickly I had fired those 500 rounds, while still doing worthwhile exercises.

The reason was that instead of spending time reloading magazines, I was busy shooting and training.

The help here is called the McFadden Lightnin’ Grip Loader, and it really cut the time I spent off shooting.

Luckily, this will work just as good at the back of your ranch, during BBQ, shooting cans with your Ruger 10/22.

All you do is put 50 rounds or so (of 22LR) out of the box, into the loader (bullet reservoir), close the lid and shake until you’ve got 10-20 rounds lined up, press the pistol grip once per round, shake a little more and continue until all rounds are inside the magazine. Don’t go too fast!

The fun part here is that you get to “shoot” every round twice! Once when you load it and once when you fire it!

You buy the “Loader”, then you buy the adapter you need for your specific rifle or pistol.

The only problems I see is that the plastics feel very fragile. I don’t know, but I almost get the feeling the plastics is 3D printed, or done in a simple tool. Especially for the adapters, this is somewhat likely. I’m guessing the quality is probably better than the looks. Knock on wood, mine is still working great through several 1000s of rounds.

And yeah, I finished 2:nd in the Championship.
