Along with a new R1, Remington has trimmed the fat from Bushmaster. They have simplified their components. So no more commercial buffer tubes. Every AR will have mil-spec buffer tubes. Their new Bushmaster Minimalist has been set up with some premium accessories. It will come with an MFT Minimalist stock and grip. They will use an AAC Square Drop handguard and an AAC flash hider. They have gone with an ALG Advanced Combat Trigger. The one they brought was chambered in .300blk and with their AAC can, it was very quiet with subsonic loads.

The Bushmaster Minimalist has an MSRP for $1169

Phil Note: Guys I know I reviewed the 10mm back on the 4th so no need to remind us it’s a duplicate. Nick saw this at another show and has his own take on it.

  • Joseph Goins

They shouldn’t offer new models until they fix the problems in their current lineup.

    • They have Joseph————–

      • Joshua Knott

Correct me if I’m wrong, but on the 870s they still outsource their shotgun parts from Russia?

        • iksnilol

If they did, the darn things would have worked correctly.

          • Joshua Knott

lol, Ive been searching all over to see where i remember reading that from in regards to the out sourcing, i thought it was sometime in the late 90’s as shotguns dont follow under ITAR, at least thats what i thought.

        • Texas-Roll-Over

          No, and they never did.

  • Ryfyle

Do like the beefy 10mm Auto. And they tried to replace it with .40 S&W.

    • JustAHologram

It’s like the metal, it was too strong to be defiled by the .40s&w

  • Jack

Square drop? Seems like an odd choice with keymod/m-lok out there. Anyone have more info about it?

    • Bradley

According to the aac website it is also compatible with keymod.

    • Anonymoose

It’s AAC’s new baby. I’m still surprised they used MFI stuff instead of Magpul stuff.

  • Hoplopfheil

    Minimalist rifle with maximalist price!

    • Ryfyle

I swear man. I will find a way to undercut the market on these AR. You could totally sell these thing for 400$ and have a quality rifle.

      • Texas-Roll-Over

      • Hoplopfheil

I would love to do a comparison of cheapo ARs like the Windham and Anderson rifles that go for under 500 USD.

        I bet they’re just fine.

  • Frank Grimes

Keymod is the worst thing since the Challenger explosion.

    • h3968836

Funny. VLTOR, Knight’s Armament, Bravo Company, Daniel Defense, and Noveske seem to disagree with you.

Fanboys that want *less* consumer choice and like to play Highlander by shouting “THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!”, are the worst thing since the Challenger explosion.

      • Frank Grimes

There can be more than one, that’s fine.

Just as long as it’s a good system.

Keymod is not a good system, people who use it probably don’t like women as much as they should.

        • h3968836

Oh, you’re just saying that because keymod slots look like little dongs.

  • Dayattherange

The Remington is a rebadge of the Para Elite Hunter. Go and compare the two.

    • Hilltop

      Good. Maybe it works.

  • QC at the time of your review was pretty bad. Remington has made good progress in testing methods as well as manufacturing.

    • Giolli Joker

It is probably true as you say, but it sounds funny, given recent Remington’s adventures.

  • Gunwrangler

The para long hunter with a Remington logo on it, but it should be ok the kinks were worked out a few years ago
