Saw this posted on Facebook. To the props/weapons master: You had one job. Now to be fair the actress or possibly extra might have been directed to do a mag change and clearly does not know how an MP5 is supposed to work or its magazine. Someone thought this might be from an episode of The Shield?

        Good catch.

  • wetcorps

To the perso who made this picture : you had one job. Taking a photo of a computer screen with your phone?

    • brutal

Um, Greenshot much? Snag-It in a pinch.

  • Ed

Must be another anti gun high ranking LAPD officer who to afraid of fire arms to know the basics of weapons, like which way the mag goes into the SMG! Spends too much time sucking up to anti gun Democrats!!

    • Cymond

…. Don’t know if sarcasm or serious ….

It’s a picture from a TV show on Netflix or something. You can see the Back/Play/Forward buttons.

    • Henry Reed

Oh great, another red/blue guy. Get off my blog.

      • Charles Applegate

        AND your lawn! 😉

  • Schnee

I think it’s a rare variant of the MP5, rarer than the MP-10 with last round bolt open. HK dropped it over legal threats from Boberg for patent infringement. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/f1e9b94c478d2eea8fc6de1e2bf3760e4e12423ba6323f056c83d2e040c3b4a6.jpg

Here’s one I speed a few years ago on Netflix, don’t remember what show.

  • MIke H

Well, at least he’s exercising good trigger discipline… o.O

    • DIR911911 .

*she , there’s a hair bun at the back of the helmet

      • Graham2

Trouble is, there are so many ‘men’ with ‘man buns’ about these days, it getting hard to tell

        • Dan

Oh “man buns” tick me off. I’m usually pretty laid back about stuff. Dont care who you marry or what gender you decided you are but for the love of all that is sacred do not put your hair in a bun you look ridiculous. Dyed pink and blue would be more acceptable.

          • crackedlenses

The ancient Chinese would like to have a word with you (although to be fair they rocked top-knots, not buns proper).

          • Phillip Cooper

Well as soon as the Ancient Chinese can tap me on the shoulder to discuss it, we will.
Till then, I’d say Dan has a pretty good lock on it.

          • crackedlenses

Lol OK. I’ve always admired the Asian men for rocking pony-tails and buns while looking masculine.

      • Phillip Cooper

You insensitive bastard. Just because this person has breasts, long hair, a bun, primary and secondary sexual characteristics in keeping with the female of the species, doesn’t mean they’re female.
        Jeez. Try to keep up.
<snark, for those too stupid to realize…)

  • Swarf

It’s aerodynamic. It’s higher speed, lower drag… er.

Your point is what exactly? This is Picture of the Day not some breaking news. What he can’t share it because it’s been seen before? In that case no more pictures or stories of anything unless it is brand spanking new.

      • ozzallos .

I’d be down with that if it wasn’t presented like it was never before seen material. Saw this posted on facebook! …and everywhere else. At least acknowledge the fact so you don’t look like you’ve been out of the loop for four years.

In fact, it’s kind of like a blog being ran by firearm enthusiast somehow not knowing what causes the flash in ballistic gelatin under energetic impact. it’s another one of those moments where you realize that TFB needs much tighter standards on who gets to post what.

Otherwise, yeah, I agree with you. Just because it’s been around the block doesn’t mean it can’t make the rounds again.

    • Phillip Cooper

      You’re 25 and in your mother’s basement, aren’t you?
Some of us have jobs and don’t get to skulk the internet all day keeping abreast of the latest stupid memes.

  • 40mmCattleDog
  • Eric Atkinson

Maybe it would be OK if you were to put the rounds in backward?

    • DIR911911 .

which I also believe hk has had a picture of

      • Dougscamo

Which was a clear violation of the “PETE” practice….Pointy End Toward Enemy….(we all love acronyms)

        • Nicholas C

          LOL I like that acronym.

        • Zebra Dun

I first heard that while Fam firing the 81 mortar at ITR in Geiger, My job was to sit on the edge of the pit and take off the increment bags (I think that is what they were called) I watched a fellow trainee attempt to load a HE round pointy end down.
The instructor Screamed “PETE Mo Fo, PETE!” I slowly sucked the sandbag up into my Colon.

  • guest

There something else off with this picture, don’t know if the freeze frame was takes at the wrong moment but… look at the right arm. Does it not look extremely thin? We’re talking anorexic thin here. Is that a woman in the uniform? That may explain it, but still looks like some tragic stick figure about to be blown over by a random gust of wind + the mag.

    • DIR911911 .

it’s a woman , did u not notice the hair bun right behind the helmet?

      • Dougscamo

UGGH! Ain’t gonna be inviting HER out to dinner….yeesh…

        • Nashvone

Why not? Obviously she doesn’t eat much. Cheap date!

          • Dougscamo

How much does a bale of hay go for these days?

  • Stephen Paraski

If it was Shield Vic would have caught it.

  • Dougscamo

Had to work yesterday so I’m a little late on my daily reading. Showed this to my wife who is not a “Hardcore Super Owner” and she immediately said “the magazine is in backwards”. Bless her heart……

  • mitori
    • Dougscamo

Like I said below, clear violation of “PETE”. This photo doesn’t surprise me a bit….used to be a police firearms instructor and was amazed when I was training recruits, ham-fists or delicate bones. Gave it up for Lent….

      • Old Vet

I hear you, when I was in recruit training I had this long held belief that if you wanted to be a police officer, then surely you knew all about firearms and was a great shot…..so far from the truth it was scary at times.

    • Cognitive Hazard

Apparently I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time!

    • A bearded being from beyond ti

      Chicken winging deluxe edition

      • Phillip Cooper

Which works just fine if you’re not clearing rooms, which she clearly wasn’t.
Hell, in certain cities in this country, it’s unlikely the person she was pointing the weapon at was even armed with anything more than a dull rock.

        But the magazine, yeah… she’s a moron.

      • When the newspaper picture was taken, “chicken winging” was still the *standard* being taught by most agencies (including the military… Hell, my 1990’s dated pistol marksmanship FM, written mostly by the Marine Corps, gives the teacup hold as an acceptable alternative.)

Making fun of it now is like making fun of photos of 1950s cops doing the one handed “combat crouch” from the hip.

        • A bearded being from beyond ti

Well it is funny, regardless of it being a valid technique or not.

    • LetsTryLibertyAgain

This is why I become a bit perturbed when I’m told I can’t be trusted to carry a firearm someplace and only the trained professionals in our police force have the professional training to behave as trained professionals. Apparently I’m just a booger eating mundane with virtual rights that disappear when I try to use them.

I’m also very upset when I see police pointing guns at people purely for intimidation. Ever heard of the four rules of firearms safety, mister professional law enforcement trained professional? What if you or I approached a police officer with a weapon drawn, much less pointed at them? Badges don’t grant special rights, and they certainly don’t revoke the rules of firearms safety.

Maybe in all of that professional law enforcement training, they could learn that the pointy ends point toward the front of the gun. That seems like something that a trained professional would know.

    • steve

WOW. Is that real? if so, she will NEVER live that down.

  • Fruitbat44

Oh dear. Of course it is possible this is photo-shopped, but OTOH . . . if it’s possible to put it in the wrong way; it will be put in the wrong way.

  • LetsTryLibertyAgain

At least her booger hook was off the bang switch. And she’s rocking the uber tactical black SS uniform, so bonus points for the intimidating style. I miss Andy Griffith, but it seems they all want to be Judge Dredd these days.

  • buzzman1

Well it is a female cop after all:-) (my sister and niece will kill me if they see that) But she did have her finger off the trigger!

  • Zebra Dun

That it was accomplished showed true skill.
    Kinda.

  • Baggy270

Clearly this is for covering your six!
