Beretta 1301 Tactical & PMAG Extension Kits from Nordic Components

    Nordic Components

Nordic Components offers a variety of parts and kits for shotguns and AR-based rifles. Included in these offerings are a Beretta 1301 Tactical shotgun kit and floor plates that increase capacity in Magpul PMAGs.

Beretta 1301 Tactical MXT Extension Kit

With this kit, Nordic Tactical increases the magazine capacity of the standard 1301 Tactical to seven rounds (with 2.75″ shells). Along with the extension tube, the company includes a barrel clamp kit that connects the magazine extension to the barrel above it. This clamp has a QD swivel socket for the addition of a sling, and it has a short Picatinny rail. The rail allows for the addition of a white light without the need for additional attachments.

The magazine extension is said to work reliably with the factory magazine spring. However, the company also includes a spare spring in the kit. The MSRP is $145.

Side note: I really like the Beretta 1301 Tactical as a home defense/duty shotgun. The one I had for review ran reliably with every load (full power, reduced recoil, bird shot, buckshot and slug). I found the oversized controls were great for running hard and fast. Feel free to take a look at Nathan’s review here.

    TTI PMAG Extension

    Nordic PMAG

Nordic Components sells a replacement floor plate for the Gen2 and Gen3 PMAGs that offer several benefits. The most obvious one is that the assembly increases how many rounds can be stuffed into the magazine: five additional with a 30-round PMAG and six additional with the 40-round PMAG.

A second potential benefit is that the extension is made of machined aluminum. This gives the magazine a heavier weight to make sure it drops fast and free from the gun.

The last potential benefit is the blue anodization. Sure, it is a purely cosmetic benefit, but I like it. Since these seem to be geared toward competition use, the added splash of color could be exactly what someone wants on their 3-gun rifle.

These are made in conjunction with Taran Tactical Innovations and retail for $36.
