If I am being completely honest, as much as I like the idea of the CZ Scorpion as a pistol caliber carbine, the aesthetics of the OEM handguard leave a lot to be desired. But like most parts of the firearms industry, if you are patient enough to wait, innovative companies will come along and fill the voids with all sorts of customization products. HB Industries will soon release a series of forends for the Scorpion that offer M-LOK attachment options and varying lengths.

The “Micro” length version of the HBI offerings is what are so catching: not only does it exclude the top diagonal cut as the CZ comes from the factory, but it also incorporates a cut-down barrel that allows the handguard to free-float. Very slick.

These handguards interface with Magpul M-LOK accessories and are designed to “free float” the barrel and allow users to shroud any round suppressor body up to 1.57″ in outside diameter. Sleek and ergonomic, every aspect of each variant has been fine tuned for functional use of forward grips, finger stops, sling mounts, lights, and of course the widest compatibility with suppressor mounting types and lengths. Scorpion Micro/K: For those interested in converting to a Micro/K style, the factory Scorpion pistol or carbine barrel must be shortened and re-threaded. We have developed a 5.3″ barrel spec that runs all 115/124/147 factory ammunition (including subsonic) using all factory bolt and recoil components; both WITH and WITHOUT a suppressor mounted. A shorter barrel is not included with any version, so be prepared to find a quality gunsmith that can follow the above cut and thread specifications. However, if the demand is large enough, HB may offer a shorter barrel as an option. So if you are interested, let them know.
