The smallest Kalashnikov in the world

Talk about low profile rifles, this AK-47 Kalashnikov is tiny.

Anatoly Konenko is a microminiaturist who has been doing micro-art for over 30 years, creating some of the smallest things in the world (well it’s all relative!).

He spends his days working through a microscope and has won a lot of awards in his home country and around the Globe.

He has created the smallest Kalashnikov Automatic Rifle in the world.

At only 0.9 mm (0,0354 inches) in length Konenko’s Kalashnikov has a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Konenko spent two months working on the unique AK47 automatic rifle, which has 12 separate parts.

I’m pretty sure the rifle doesn’t fire!

Talk about trying to find your AK-47 in a needle…

Apparently there are only about 11 micro-miniaturists in the world, 8 of whom are Russian.

The miniature Kalashnikov was made a few years ago, to mark a historic date as it was 65 years ago that the Izhmash plant manufactured its first batch of Kalashnikov АK-47 automatic rifles.

Anatoly Konenko’s works often reference Russian fables and fairy tales; some of his most famous creations include “The Savvy Flea”, “The Grasshopper Violinist” and “A Caravan of Camels in the Eye of the Needle”. Considering the Kalashnikov rifle’s success around the world it’s easy to understand it has a place in his art book.
