GUNSTRUCTION Launches Build It, Win It Contest for Remington 700

thumb.large810.5797b1f6451eb-575x277

Gunstruction, originally known for their AR-15 builder, has been on a tear of rapid expansion into various other calibers and platforms. Their most recent introduction has been the addition of the Remington 700 bolt-action rifle platform, which has included many notable manufacturers within the platform’s vast direct and aftermarket.

Of that, McMillan has partnered with the website to launch an interesting contest featuring their stock systems. Basically, configure a Remington 700 on Gunstruction with their stock and you can win the entire rifle. (In short, don’t skimp on the optics, muzzle brake, accessories, or anything else that you can add to make the rifle tacti-cool).

The various entries are then entered into a pool for other Gunstruction users to vote for their favorite. However, Gunstruction will hold the final sway, but will take into account the user votes, quality of the image, and quality of the build.

Contest ends 8/31 at midnight. There are unlimited entries, so build and submit away!

Details from Gunstruction’s entry page:

With the launch of the new Remington 700 platform, GUNSTRUCTION and McMillan are proud to bring you a Build It, Win It contest. With a customized McMillan stock of your choice up for grabs, we’ll get you started off right on that next 700 build!

1 GRAND PRIZE – McMillan Stock from the winner’s build

1 RUNNER UP – $250 GUNSTRUCTION STORE gift card

10 FINALISTS – GUNSTRUCTION swag bag

The rules are simple, just build any R700 rifle in the GUNSTRUCTION builder using any available McMillan Stock. Take a nice screen capture, and save the URL to enter into the contest. Feel free to use photo editing software to make your entry pop more. If you’re having trouble entering, check out our guide.

Users will vote on their favorite builds, and the final winners will be selected by the GUNSTRUCTION team based on: User votes, Quality of image, Quality of build. You can enter as many builds as you want, as long as they are each unique.

    Remington. Yeah-no…..

    • M-cameron

Yeah, such crapy rifles…..I mean, they only shoot 1moa out of the box and only shoot sub moa with a simple stock change….what rubbish.

      • McThag

I’ll bet I have to pull the trigger and work the bolt myself too!

        • Joe

          Not always.

      • JOhn

Also comes with free rust and burrs!

      • iksnilol

They also fire when you put them on safe… or jostle them.

  • Dave

It says the grand prize is only the stock from the build, not the whole rifle.

    • M-cameron

Yes, how dare they not give you a whole rifle for your 10 minutes of time entering a free contest.

      • Joe

Online contests that give away actual guns are not that uncommon. TFB just last week advertised a Henry giveaway.

      • Dave

I was simply pointing out that Nathan wrote McMillan would be giving away the entire rifle, glass and all, as the prize, when that is not the case.

Can’t seem to add a picatinny adapter. 🙁

  • Sasquatch

    No mobile compatibility? 😕

    • BattleshipGrey

I’ve never been able to use gunstruction on any of the computers I’ve tried. It’s probably a software issue on my end though.

      • Sasquatch

If they are going to do this at least make sure that the site works….

      • iksnilol

Nah, I’ve used a decently powerful computer and it still is slow and buggy.

        • BattleshipGrey

Good to know not to bother then.

          • iksnilol

            Basically my conclusion as well.

Maybe if you get a computer powerful enough to run Doom on ultra settings.

    • Gus Butts

No compability at all. Regardless of what program or computer I use, their website is still a buggy, laggy mess. It is impossible to navigate freely. Applying “paint” on parts you want is literally impossible.

  • GreatName

how many USB ports does it have?

    • datimes

      How about Wi-Fi?

  • Edeco

    $3 for the app? Bleh.

    • tsubaka

or use your computer (i hope it’s a good one)

      • Edeco

        ah, will try it, thx

  • Mike Lashewitz

So what you are saying is:
I have to obtain one of their stocks as well as all the other items for the build, then build it and take pictures of it and post it online within the next 8 days.

You want I should take that picture while riding on the back of A GREAT White Whale TOO?

Consider if the shipping delays and the additional costs of overnighting the parts to build the weapon all just so I “might” get an opportunity to win it after I built it.

No I do not play the lottery either.

I am sure some st’oo’pid people will try for this.. Good luck.

    • Suppressed

You “build” it online in a simulator, costs you nothing.

      • Mike Lashewitz

I could have used this information 21 days ago.

        • Suppressed

Haha, I’m just getting caught up on everything here after a 4-month work blitz got me set back on everything here.
