Special Interest Arms (SIA) in Gardnerville, Nevada, specializes in bolt action rifle to pistol caliber conversions. With an emphasis on quiet, SIA is using the Armscor .22 TCM bolt action as a platform for a 9mm rifle/suppressor host. The Novem is available as either a 16″ carbine, a 12″ barrel with a permanently attached cage to avoid National Firearms Act  (NFA) complications, a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) and an integrally suppressed rifle.

As an owner of a suppressed Ruger 77/357 SBR, I am a big fan of the closed-action pistol caliber carbines as suppressor hosts. Pricing on the guns runs the gamut, starting at $750 for a conversion on a customer-supplied gun. (The Armscor rifles can be found for $350-$500 depending on supply and availability).
