Daniel Defense announced a new .308 semi-automatic rifle called the Ambush. The new hunting rifle is chambered in .308 Win, a cartridge considered by some to be the perfect hunting round for North America.

The SR-25 compatible rifle is distinctive with a Kryptek Highlander finish that is designed to make it utterly vanish in the field. The upper, lower and handguard are all finished in Highlander with the adjustable stock, pistol grip and controls sporting a more traditional black finish. To provide the camo pattern, Daniel Defense uses a water transfer process. Controls are finished in black.

Daniel Defense uses a free floated 18″ barrel that is cold hammer forged and fitted with the company’s Superior Suppression Device Extended. The barrel connects to the upper receiver with a four bolt system and has a proprietary barrel extension. According to Daniel Defense, this barrel system offers superb accuracy and stability while reducing weight when compared to other designs.

The respected Geissle Super Semi Automatic (SSA) two stage trigger is standard on this gun. Other standard features include the adjustable buttstock and Magpul 20 round PMAG magazine. Daniel Defense includes a hard plastic case with the rifle. Unloaded, the gun weighs in at 8.6 pounds.
