Odd AR and AK in Karachi Province

Found these pictures in a facebook group.

30 bore 7.62×25 Ak full auto and Ar semi auto (no safety) with an mp5 style mag release. These pictures were taken in a rush and both these guns belonged to some private security guards in Karachi Pakistan

I am not sure about the effectiveness of this AR. The sight plane of the front and rear sights do not seem to be the same.

That AK looks so tiny. Like Japanese Chibi Style aka Super Deformed. It is almost cute.13263950_10153498206927327_3075332910446515607_n

  • Tapco

Look tapco finally started making guns

  • I like the stubby AK

    • Harry’s Holsters

I kind of really want one. It’s like an even cooler CZ Scorpion 32ACP.

  • TDog

Is anyone sure they’re actually functional?

    • jamezb

Remember we are talking about Pakistani Security
      – Contracted Professional death-dealers.. So…
…nope, never fired and only dropped once,…
      – in the Bin Laden compound raid.

  • Cal S.

Stupid question, but how do you actually chamber a round in that micro-AK?

    • iksnilol

      Pull the charging handle?

      • Scott Tuttle

do you see a charging handle? I see where one was and has been broken off. hope he remembers to change mags before he runs out.

      • Cal S.

Oh, holy cow that’s easily missed…

      • Tritro29

        But gently…

  • 40mmCattleDog

“Private security guards” with homemade guns, one of which has no safety. Another day in Pakistan.

    • Tritro29

      Another day in Paradise…

    • Mike11C

My finger IS my safety. LOL

  • Zachary marrs

    Oh taurus!

  • Audie Bakerson

What’s the muzzle device on the AR?

    • Twilight sparkle

Looks kinda like a yhm phantom

    • Cymond

I agree with Twilight, it like like a Phantom, which has become a commonly copied/cloned design.

  • TheNotoriousIUD

    “This is my safety, sir.”

  • Tormund Giantsbane

So… When are we going to start importing those AKs?

  • OJS

What’s the angle of departure on those “AR” irons? Looks like about 15-20*.. long range shooter? Or so close it doesn’t matter…

  • Harry’s Holsters

Just be because it has a carry handle, quad rail, and adjustable stock doesn’t make it an AR.

  • El Duderino

Submachinegun with 90 MOA built into the iron sights…awesome

    • iksnilol

For volley fire, otherwise they’re close enough that you can point shoot.

  • jamezb

The “AR” doesn’t need sights… the rounds are guided to the target by the mysterious, mystical Colt Black-Rifle-Magic Ju-Ju..

  • disqus_PDmXLtTxJj

LOLCHIBI AK SO KAWAII!!! Roflmao Thank you, you have made my day.

  • disqus_PDmXLtTxJj

If you zoom in on the pic of the “ar” there are words I can only make out the last part it says “defense”. On the non ejector side.

  • Nimrod

Those are pot metal toys (bad replicas?) i.e, not real.

    • Nigel Tolley

The first round still kills you, even if the barrel blows up.

  • spencer60

    ‘Almost cute’ ???

My man card may be at risk but that little AK is adorable.

    There.
    I said it.

    • Nicholas C

LOL. A real man is comfortable in his manhood to call it like it is. Puppies and babies are adorable. That little AK is definitely in the same category.

      • LCON

All I can think of are those mini electric Airsoft guns.

  • Cymond

Interesting. I saw this online a few days ago, but doing know the source/history.

  • The American Crusader

The AR is definitely not real. The bolt isn’t even in line with the barrel. C’mon people.

    • Martin M

I agree. Totally fake weapon cobbled out of parts from who-knows-where. Part Airsoft, part toy. In some places just appearing to be armed is enough to deter trouble.

    • Jeff NME

The “AR” looks like it could be a Scorpion VZ61 with an aluminium box shoved over the top to make up the carry handle, folding stock and froegrip attachment points.
Goodness knows if the real barrel extends all the way to the flash hider, or if it’s just a plain tube forward of the real muzzle with the hider screwed or soldered on.

  • SLi-Fox

Nice AK. What do you think if it were manufactured here? Lower price point of the AKX-9 or higher ($1500-$1800)? There’s massive untapped talent abroad.

  • gunsandrockets

Original magazines? Or sourced from some old SMG?

    IAC, yay for 7.62×25!

    • Patrick

That’s what I thought. Looks like these things are better classified as SMGs firing Tokarev rounds.

  • Bill

I’m confident that they are extremely effective if you want to get shot by someone who thinks your toy gun is actually real.

It’s not like there’s a shortage of actual firearms in Pakistan. Like Mexico, where there are total bans on just about everything, guns are everywhere.

  • Mojopin

I thought I read somewhere that Pakistani Civilians where not allowed to own “legal” weapons in miltary calibers and that’s why they have these hackett jobs in some under utilized stuff.

  • Imran

Most security guards in Karachi tend to carry pistol grip pump action shot guns, the police and military have Chinese AK’s, and the military has POF G3’s and Steyr AUG’s.

Airport security was seen with Tokarev TT33’s and some MP5’s. Went to a gun shop on Saddar Road and saw some interesting Peshawar made AK shotguns and rifles. Another gun store I went to said Glock’s can go for about $2K if you find any. They had Taurus, Beretta, and more that I can’t recall.

  • Adam

Nothing that comes out of Darra should surprise anyone. Always creating something new.

  • Great_Baldung

They look like those mini airsoft replicas… except they shoot and are actually cute.

  • Nigel Tolley

Anyone know what calibre that chibiAK is? Surely a pistol round.

  • Mike11C

I think there is some VZ50 in there too.
