Great concept for sure, but I’ll wait for a price point before judging.

    • AR500 Armor has a version of this, but no MOLLE (lower profile). $119 for the carrier/bag, $289 with level 3 plates. You can find it on their website, but I won’t link to it as I don’t want my post to disappear into the moderation queue.

I think it is a good option for people who are worried about active shooters, but can’t risk bringing a gun into their workplace. Just throw it in a desk drawer and no will be the wiser. Sure it isn’t perfect, but it is better than nothing.

I suppose this version wouldn’t be a bad emergency kit for someone that is SWAT or other high risk job. But it doesn’t look too comfortable, so I wouldn’t want to wear it for 12 hours straight.

      • Jwedel1231

I think the people who wear plate carriers for 12 hours at a time probably better, more comfortable carriers. That being said, I did not know about the AR500 version and will have to look into it.

Will the tacti-tard mall ninja-ry NEVER stop?

    • m-cameron

how is this “mall ninja-ry”?……this is great for people in offices and schools, where they want protection, but also dont want to have a plate carrier sitting out in public….

also good for VIP protection where you want to maintain a normal profile, but also have the option of rifle protection

hell, a good idea for truck plate carrier, if you want to keep a set in the back seat, people looking will just assume its a bag…..

      • Don Ward

This is mall ninja-ry of the highest order. If your workplace environment is such that you need to worry about wearing a plate-carrier, you should really think about changing careers or have access to a crew served weapon. If you need to worry about a plate carrier to go down to go down to the Piggly Wiggly to restock your Little Debbies, then maybe you should think about ordering delivery.

        Let’s be rational folks.

This is about as idiotic as those schemes for bullet-proof backpacks to give your kids so they’re “protected” during a mass school shooting.

        • Dracon1201

You’re a really judgemental person, aren’t you? Nevermind those that work in dangerous areas. Appearantly because you have no use for it, it’s pointless. You sound just like the rest of the fudds. Do we also not “need” AR15s because if we’re prepping for trouble we should get a “crew served weapon?” This could be a lifesaving device for someone.

          Let’s be rational.

hrmmm….i bet those people in San Bernardino wished they had a plate carrier in their office…..

not everyone has the luxury of living in a nice suburban wonderland…..some people have to go through pretty sketchy areas in their daily life.

personally i have to go through a fairly high crime area to get to work…..just how it is…….and yes, i keep a LVL 3a insert in my bag…….its cheap and light weight.

no one is carrying this EDC to walmart and the coffee house……this is for people who may actually face advanced threats, people like senators, congressmen, high profile businessmen, ect……or as i said, to keep in a truck or office for cheap insurance.

just because you live in a nice cushy neighborhood….or maybe you are just oblivious……doesnt make an actually useful product “mall ninjary”

      Try less next time.

  • Josh

This is the Elsa plate carrier

  • Bob

I dunno. I can see some use for such an item, but honestly, if I was that worried about being shot at I would probably try getting a fancy vest that I could wear all the time. And of course I would need to move, lest people question my overnight weight gain…

  • Jwedel1231

    This video is epic.

  • Ambassador Vader

doesn’t a concealed vest and belt work just as well?

  • Jonathan Riddle

Where is the page that sales this??

  • Jonathan Riddle

Any idea where to buy the one in the Chinese swat video?
