Wilson Combat Sentinel Compact

Fresh on the heels of the new Sentinel Professional, Wilson Combat announced the Sentinel Compact. The new handgun is similar to the Professional, but is in a smaller package.

Wilson Combat takes their shortest carbon steel slide and mates it to the company’s carbon steel, compact 1911 frame. The obvious intent is to produce a small pistol that is easy to carry for self defense. However, unlike many CCW style handguns, the Sentinel Compact is designed as much for looks and luxury as it is for serious work.

The handgun is chambered in both 9mm and .38 Super. Wilson Combat states the 9mm magazines will hold eight rounds, but do not give a capacity for the .38 Super loading.

The pistol has a green fiber optic front sight that pairs with a rear Battlesight. The barrel is 3.6″ long and has a flush, reverse crown. The barrel is considered to be match grade and is fluted. The chamber is also fluted.

The suggested retail price on this pistol is $3,750. That is the base price. Additional options and customizations can drive the price up from there. While this is outside of the price range many people are willing to spend on a pistol, Wilson Combat has a devoted customer base who is quite satisfied with the quality and functioning of the products they have purchased.
