Coming soon to a Canadian wasteland near you, Seraphim Armoury has started importing their Nomad pistol to Canada. With some clear Mad Max inspiration (or Desperado if you prefer) the side-by-side shotgun features a bird’s head grip, tang safety, a red fiber optic front sight, and a single trigger.

The Nomad is made in Turkey to Seraphim’s specs and design, with two 9 inch cylinder bore barrels. A 6 inch barrel version is also planned, along with a full stock non-restricted version and an over-under variant.

A brief explanation of Canadian law here: shortening a barrel to less than 18″ by sawing or cutting is explicitly prohibited. But newly manufactured barrels do not have the same restrictions. Because the overall length of this firearm is less than 26″ it is classified as restricted, must be registered with the government, and can only be fired at an approved range. A version with a full length stock that brought the OAL to over 26″ would be non-restricted under Canadian law, with looser transport requirements and technically legal for hunting.

Personally, I’d have a ton of respect for the stealthy hunter who puts a slug into a deer at 20 yards using a full stock version, but I can’t see myself using one outside of a cowboy action shoot.

The Nomad uses extractors (the over-under version will use ejectors) and is chambered for 2 & 3/4 inch twelve gauge shells.

MSRP is currently ballparked at $699 CAD ($532 USD) depending on model and is expected to be showing up on gun store shelves later this Spring.
