Unity Tactical, who has produced the EXO Mount for Surefire weapon lights and the Monkey Bar MBUS Pro Offset mount has a new product hitting the market–a sort of cummerbund battle belt pouch system. I know right?  Kind of a strange idea, though not an entirely new concept–kind of similar to the Das Ding (or the old “Belly Band”).  It does appear to be a lot more functional than the Das Ding being narrower, capable of attaching to other belt systems (hook and loop style under belt), can be worn lower on the waist, as well as high up for a more “low profile” application.

Unity Tactical has done a short little promo video highlighting the use and functionality.

At first glance, I like the concept.  Being able to position gear where you want is always nice and I think that having a ready to go load out is handy.  Being able to put on support gear over an IWB pistol is pretty nice.  Though I’m not sure I would hang my tourniquet right over my crotch… 🙂

What do you readers think?  I would personally try this in a competition–if it works it would certainly save money over having to buy all of the stinking accessories dependent on Tek-Lok mounts (or whatever else you may run).  And for that matter could be a decent thing for hiking (depending on how tight it holds items).

MSRP looks to be $150 and it doesn’t look like they are available yet through Unity Tactical’s website. Though I did find them for pre-order on Rogue Dynamics (with availability in March) and they look to be discounted for launch.
