Just last Friday, Yahoo News posted an article about Facebook’s new policy to prohibit firearm transactions that circumvent background checks.

All of the Facebook groups I am a member of have posted warnings regarding this policy change.

From this moment forward, there will no longer be any private sales conducted within the group. This rule will remain in effect until we know more about Facebook’s change in policies. As much as we do not agree with it, we must comply in order to keep the lights on. Thanks for your understanding.

If you look at the new Facebook policy it is only trying to prevent transactions that skip background checks. They may allow transactions that require background checks, like handgun sales. In the state of PA all handgun transfers require a background check.
