Safariland Competition Shell Holder

    Safariland 086

Safariland announced a new shotgun shell holder developed for competition sports. The new holder was announced and shown at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show that was held recently in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The new Model 086 Shotgun Shell Holder aims to help competition shooters decrease the amount of time it takes to reload their scatterguns. The units have a number of adjustments that allow the shooter to tweak both fast access and and the secure retention of the shells – particularly useful while engaged in more active competitions like 3 Gun matches. The retention plates are unique enough to the industry that there is a patent pending on the design.

According to Safariland, there are a number of features that make the Model 086 Shotgun Shell Holder a more useful product that some of the other existing designs. First, the units can be arranged to hold either four or eight 12 gauge shotgun shells. Second, the units uses a rigid aluminum backplate for strength. Third, the backplate allows the shooter to adjust the angled cant and ride height. Fourth, the unit can be adjusted to work with a variety of shotgun shell lengths.

These units are available immediately and will carry a suggested retail price of $48. Safariland also recently introduced a competition carrying case.
