This summer I realized there wasn’t a single rimfire firearm in my safe, and set out to fix that. The end result was an 11 inch SBR settled nicely into a Fab Defense 10/22 chassis. Take a look:

One of the things I really like about this stock is that it’s not trying to convince me I’m shooting an AR. I’ve looked at several tactical .22s and stock systems that are actively mimicking the aesthetics of some recognizable military rifle, but they just don’t quite get there. They just don’t quite capture the quality and feel of the original rifles.

Although as a side note: I have to confess I want a Blaze 47 just because the RCMP thinks its some kind of Kalashnikov. Isn’t Canada fun?

But with the Fab Defense 10/22 setup, it’s just trying to be a comfortable stock with a decent grip and some picatinny rail space.

I’ve had several people ask about a version of this stock that would fit a take down model 10/22. While Fab Defense hasn’t released any statement about that yet, Shot Show is right around the corner, and it seems like a natural direction for them to go.

If we’re actually breaking down the full line, there are currently eight stocks in total based on the following choices:

• Do you want the UAS stock with a cheek riser, or an AR-15 tube with a GL shock stock?
• Do you want just the stock, or the optics mount included?
• Do you want the folding mechanism, or a fixed stock?

Depending on how you answer those questions, the stock runs anywhere from $125 to $199 USD.
