New Protech Ballistic Helmets

    Protech Delta X

Protech Tactical previewed a pair of new ballistic helmets at the recent SHOT Show in Las Vegas. The two new helmets are the Delta X and the Delta 5. Both helmets were designed by Protech Tactical to offer good ballistic performance while increasing comfort to the wearer.

Weighing less than two pounds, the Delta X offers a full coverage cut. The company states it was able to reduce the overall weight of this helmet by about 30% through the use of a special bolt-less aramid mold. The helmet is made of polyethylene and an aramid composite. According to the company, the helmet will provide both NIJ Level IIIA protection (handgun rounds) and small fragment resistance (V50>2,400 fps for 17 gr.) The Delta X will use a one size fits all system.

The Delta 5 offers the same level of protection as the Delta X with an approximate weight reduction of 23% when compared to traditional advanced combat helmets (ACH.) These helmets will be sized from small to extra large standard. A jumbo size will be available as a special order.

Both helmets will be available with full, mid and high cuts. Standard colors will be textured black, foliage green and coyote brown. There will be an assortment of accessories and suspension systems available for them as well.
