[SHOT 2016] Steadify

This year (as I mentioned in another article), I had been pre-contacted for an interview for a company that had a couple of products of interest to me, International Supplies. Also, after publishing a press release for a company selling shooting sticks (earlier this year), my interest was piqued regarding the use of a portable stabilizer.

International Supplies has such a product, but in an interesting configuration—the stabilizer is attached to your body. Steadify is basically a single point collapsible stick with a quick locking system that attaches to a small platform that attaches to your body via belt.  It hangs down collapsed and out of the way when not deployed.. The end of the Steadify has a “Y” fork on which you rest your rifle. You can spin the “Y” around to provide a more flat platform for use with binoculars (or whatever).

Operation is pretty fast a fluid and you can pretty easily bring the Steadify up to a ready position in a single smooth motion, locking it in place with a short twist.

Personally I’d like to see this offered with a way to attach to my own belt system, but the product definitely has some interest for me. I will likely be doing a review on it later this year so keep your eyes open if this is a concept that interests you.
