[SHOT 2016] 5.11 Havoc 30 Backpack

    5.11 Tactical Havoc 30 Backpack

The 5.11 Tactical booth is always a busy place at SHOT, with a wide range of products for a wide range of users. This year is no exception and they are displaying their usual crop of excellent apparel and gear. One of the new items that caught my eye was the Havoc 30 backpack. This urban-style bag packs a lot of tactical features but keeps it all on the down-low, keeping the wearer from advertising as a “Hello, I might be armed” poster child. As such, it serves as both a carry pack and non-tactical day use pack as needed.

It’s made from ultra-durable 500D/1050D nylon for lightweight strength and features a 1.5-inch removable waist strap that is holster-ready and is compatible with 5.11’s Zero-G Plate load-bearing add-ons that help distribute weight on the belt for a better, more comfortable ride. The belt has double AR mag/water bottle pockets with plenty of room to stash all that extra stuff you end up needing with you out in the field or walking around town.

The hydration reservoir slot can also be used to hold a chest plate, adding armor capability, and a low-profile laser-cut MOLLE panel looks almost more fashionable than tactical. It has a large stash area that can easily hold jackets and other bulky items as needed and a padded eyewear pocket to keep glasses safe, secure, and easily accessible.

The 5.11 Havoc 30 backpack has an MSRP of $149 and is available in black, sandstone, Double Tap, and Storm Grey. I think I’ve found my next pack.
