[SHOT 2016] Day 1 round up!

IMGP3693

SHOT 2106 Day 1 has come to an end. Below are some pictures of Range Day and Day 1 of SHOT show.  Some are humorous, some are neat.

IMGP3531

Billet Rifle Systems had a Star Wars themed rifle. I saw a lot of people posing with it. Awesome Cerakote job!

IMGP3693

In my opinion Realtree has the best booth of SHOT Show

IMGP3588

Jacob Bynum, of Rifles Only, is a really nice guy! We had a 20 minute conversation about some products from Rifles Only. Jacob is a brilliant individual and an excellent marksman and instructor. He did cut his golden locks.

IMGP3641

Ed Brown is offering a 9mm 1911 with a red dot. Nice pistol.

IMGP3701

Towards the latter part of Range Day I walked over to the Glock booth. R. Lee Ermey was super chipper and an absolute pleasure to talk to. Amazing man. Great shot. Great American. Thank you Sir. It was a pleasure to meet you!

IMGP3692

Apparently this is a thing. Camo lingerie.

IMGP3470

Fix it sticks! Awesome accessory. I am going to be adding these to my gun bag.

IMGP3510

SOG had a throwing knife setup at Range Day. It was fun watching the older gentlemen re-live their childhoods. Go back 50 years and I bet these old timers could sink everyone of those knives!

IMGP3485

Instructor Zero was at the Glock booth during Range Day. Neat guy to talk to. Endless energy.

IMGP3492

I got to shoot a .416 Rigby at the Mauser shooting lane. It kicked a little bit more then a lightweight 12 gauge with heavy turkey loads. I held it like a shotgun using the “push pull” method. Not bad. I hit my target. That is $12,000 worth of rifle I am holding. Here is a video of Ken Hackathorn demonstrating the “push pull” method.

IMGP3612

War Sport’s booth did not have the Chris Costa rifle. The representative would not elaborate on why they were not carrying it. Nice rifles overall.

IMGP3679

Magpul’s booth was amazing as usual. Caylen Wokcik was a pleasure to talk to.

IMGP3649

Iver Johnson is importing 1911’s from the Philippines and “treating them with their special coating.” When I asked the very rude rep if the “special coating” was Cerakote, she responded “yes” after a long pause.

Great Day Overall! Looking forward to Day 2.

I had no idea Iver Johnson was still in business…though maybe not for long if their Public Representative hates the public.

    Any new news from Magpul?

The rude behavior is disappointing. My first gun was an Iver Johnson – a .410.

      LOL. “….yes…”

In her defence, it’s the company’s fault for trying to invent special names for already available products. She just had to go along with it as best she could.

Any new left hand products or anything .357 Sig? Thanks

  • USMC03Vet

Camo lingerie is as legit as yoga range pants.

  • Can1

Thanks for all this cool updates.

Did you guys have a chance to see the new Colt Canada/diemaco rifle?

If you pass by their booth take a few pics please.

That is $12,000 worth of rifle I am holding.

No, it’s not. It may have a $12k price tag, but that’s something else entirely.
