Wilson Combat ARP

Wilson Combat ARP

Wilson Combat announced a new AR-style pistol called the ARP Tactical Pistol. ARP stands for AR Pistol.

The new gun comes with a Shockwave Blade attached to the buffer tube. The Shockwave Blade is a forearm assistance device that is supposed to help with one-handed shooting of the 27″ long gun. It may look like a buttstock, but Wilson Combat is careful to note that it should be used for its intended purpose only.

The gun shown in the photograph above has a number of options that do not come on the base model. For example, back up sights, an optic and the Streamlight TLR are all optional. Wilson Combat can add some of these to the gun at purchase should you want them to do so. Of course, that costs extra.

Specs and features on the base model:

  • 5.56 NATO
  • forged upper and lower using 7075 aluminum
  • carbine length gas system
  • low profile gas block
  • Wilson Combat TTU trigger set at 4 pounds
  • NP3 coated bolt carried group
  • Armor-Tuff finish
  • 11.3″ ARP Tactical Match Grade barrel, threaded with Accu-Tac flash hider
  • T.R.I.M. rail/handguard
  • Bravo Company pistol grip
  • Shockwave Blade pistol forearm support
  • weight: 6 pounds, 3 ounces unloaded
  • base price: $2,250

Wilson Combat sells a variety of custom shotguns, rifles and handguns. The company also sells parts for these guns as well.

Styling and pricing reminds me of Daniel Defense.

    • DAN V.

      Wilson = $$$$
      DD = $$$

  • Dracon1201

$2250… Really? It sucks for that price.

    • cs

$2250 isn’t bad compared with a lot of other offerings from Barrett, HK, Sig, etc.

  • JumpIf NotZero

ARP is not the letters I would have gone with. I already associate Wilson Combat with older people, enough disposable income to not do price/performance research. So all I see is the Wilson Combat AARP.

    • Or DERP…. ?

      • Michael R. Zupcak

Major DERP. I thoght everyone knew what AR stood for by now, even New York Times journalists.

    • J. Kayd

But also, the ARP Tactical Pistol? It’s literally the Assault Rifle Pistol Tactical Pistol.

      • Cymond

Except that AR stands for Armalite Rifle.

How about that. I learned something today. 🙂

For what an AR pistol is for, what mods does it really need, assuming that it’s reliable? The “brace” I get, but I don’t need a match barrel for shooting minute-of-moron across a room.

  • USMC03Vet

Thank you, TFB. I needed my daily lulz in the form of absurdly overpriced firearms.

  • Kyle

That brace looks a hell of a lot like just a crappy stock.
