PX4 Compact Carry (SHOT Show 2016)

The Beretta PX4 is no newcomer to the marketplace, but here Patrick takes a look at the new PX4 Compact Carry. This offering is a compact PX4 with some unique features that should make it a damn decent gun for personal protection. Also, while aesthetics come second when it comes to such things, we will note that the finish is extraordinary.

  • This really is the Glock 19 of hammer fired guns and makes it the perfect gun for aiwb so you can put your thumb on the hammer during holstering.

    • john huscio

HK p2000 is the g19 equivalent for me.

  • Nick Wong

Cerakoted slide, talon grips… night sights… a pre-customized gun… If I didn’t already have a Px4, it would probably be worth picking up.

  • john huscio

So where’s their striker fired pistol?

    • Twilight sparkle

      Strikers are overrated.

    • That project (APX) was shelved.

      • BattleshipGrey

I hadn’t heard that, but it never captured my eye… other than having to stare at it like you would a train wreck.

      • ARCNA442

Do you have source? I couldn’t find anything in a search.

        • Kefefs

I’d like a source as well. This is the first I’ve heard that and I can’t find anything online.

  • Ken

I already have a PX4 Compact that I’d converted to a Type G (decocker-only) with low-profile controls and Talon grips. So Beretta just released my carry gun as a new model. It’s the perfect EDC if you like DA/SA as I do.

    • There’s more to it than that. This has a custom Ameriglo sights set, all the springs have been changed out to the Special Duty set (chrome silicon) and the hammer assembly/locking block are the special competition set with Diamond Like Coating (DLC) that Beretta doesn’t sell outside of Italy.

  • Specs listed on Beretta have it as 1.42″ wide – does that include the decocker?

    • James Cornett

I think the slide releases are the widest part and yes that includes those

  • Don Ward

In a world of generic striker fired pistols, I’m glad Beretta is staying true and putting out an actually useful concealed hammer-fired carry gun with a decocker. Also, Beretta can’t help but make sexy handguns, even with something as utilitarian as the PX4.

  • Jeremy Star

I love my full size PX4, but the compact PX4 had a smaller “beavertail” on
the frame and the hammer bit me every time I shot it. I got rid of my
compact because of it. Any idea if the “beavertail” on this one is more
    like the full size?

  • James Cornett

How much do you think this will come in at? $750?

  • A Fascist Corgi

Nice muzzle control during the interview…
