Cobalt Kinetics Competition Rifles (SHOT Show 2016)

Cobalt Kinetics makes some rifles with the very serious 3-gun shooter in mind, and a casual observer could be forgiven for mistaking them for blaster rifles. While they certainly look unconventional, these guns feature some outstanding little extras that are sure to give competitors an edge.

competition rifles: … So we have a lot of CNC time we’re not utilizing… How can we sell something with less functionality, and more markup?

The machining on the upper looks great. But the fixed stock (seriously?) and the lower look like it should be co-branded with AXE bodyspray and Affliction clothing. A little too cool guy for me.

Cobalt has some of the unique and useful innovation in. The market. I have two and the are too notch. Try reading and watching before you dribble your nonsense.

      • JumpIf NotZero

Yea cool…. What innovations are those? (seriously)

And how does that change that the styling looks like it does with use of a few buckets of hair gel? (not seriously)

automatic bolt drops and magazine drops are neither unique or innovative, they’ve been rejected from military trials repeatedly in the distant past. maybe it works for 3gun, it’s still a horrible idea.

The manufacturer is probably not lining up for any military contracts with these guns. This is for competition, and competition only. Guess what, a 38 super Open-pistol would probably not be a very good military pistol either…

    Like the colors.

  • kzrkp

looks like something an out of work videogame designer imagined.

    ugly and uncomfortable.

  • I’m totally for a white AR. Just the hipster in me quivers any time I see one.

Isn’t Patrick a little short for a Stormtrooper? Slap on some gold paint and Alex could easily pass for C-3PO though.

    • LMAO!

    • SP mclaughlin

      Goodness gracious me!

  • Those looks really cool, especially the white one. With such a crowded field of generic “operator” AR’s, it’s nice to see something different.

  • OCD_Weaponry

My goodness I’m drooling over the beautifully done CAD work and the glorious CNC machine work done on these deadly works of art. I want to build these things…..hey Cobalt are you guys hiring???
