Santa Claus is Coming To Town: .22LR Edition | Musical Targets™

We’re in full holiday swing and I’m sure many readers are like me, scrambling to get that last bit of holiday shopping done before Christmas Eve. A big part of what I love about Christmas is the music. There are lots of holiday classics, and one of them is Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

I’ve filmed a new video shooting this song on the Musical Targets system like I have in previous videos. In this blog post I thought it would informative to share some things I learned about the song.

It came out in 1934 via radio and was written by John Coots and Haven Gillespie. It became an instant hit and many famous artists have covered the song: Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys, Dolly Parton, Neil Diamond, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, The Jackson 5, and many more. Even Alvins and the Chipmunks have gotten in on the action.

On the firearms side of things, I’m shooting a Volquartsen Superlite 10/22 rifle, chambered in .22LR. It’s quite a beaut. If you haven’t used Volquartsen Custom parts, you’re missing the fun party. Winchester M22 .22LR ammo was used in this video, and I’m so glad .22LR is back on the shelves. Finally, none of this would be possible without the Musical Targets plate system. It’s a cool system that has two octaves in the keys of C and G major.

Without further ado, here’s a fun video/song you can show the whole family this Christmas season.
