Mossberg 500 ATI Scorpion

Talo Group Distributors teamed up with Mossberg and Advanced Technology International (ATI) to design and release the Mossberg 500 ATI Scorpion shotgun.

Based on the Mossberg 500 platform, the new gun is outfitted with a variety of ATI gear to appeal to shooters looking for a variety of add ons out of the box. Possibly the most important aspect of the gun is the ATI T2 TactLite adjustable stock. The stock allows for six different lengths of pull, which can make the gun easier to shoulder for people of varying sizes. The stock uses the company’s Scorpion recoil reduction pad and adds a 1″ adjustable cheek riser. The pistol grip also uses the ATI Scorpion material for additional recoil mitigation.

An ATI heat shield is used on the gun, and a pair of 2″ Picatinny rails are added near the muzzles on the sides of the gun. The rails allow for the addition of a light or other accessory.

Also included on the gun is the ATI Add-A-Shell unit that puts additional shotgun shells close at hand for reloading. A removable Picatinny rail for an optic is attached to the top of the unit. An ATI Akita forend is also used on this scattergun.

These 12 gauge shotguns hold a total of six 2.75″ shells. The MSRP is $644. Talo is one of just several companies that commissions special runs of guns from manufacturers.

Mossberg 500 platform?! I guess using the 590 platform would cut into their profits. Overpriced. No thanks.

  • J.T.

Pistol grip on a gun with tang safety… Ya, no thanks.

Looks comfortable, like the interior of a contemporary Buick. Busy and not very visceral tho, also like a late model Buick.

  • Paul White

    adjustable stocks annoy me.

I have a beard and mustache. I’ve never shot an adjustable stock without getting my facial hair caught in it. Frigging annoying!

    “For Mall Ninja’s Pleasure … “

  • imachinegunstuff

You know whats funny about shotguns, it’s just as effective without all of that junk.

    • BearSlayer338

That really goes for just about any gun.
Only change I ever make to guns are the grips(if they don’t work for me)and the sights.(if they don’t come with night sights)

  • TheNotoriousIUD

I dont need no adjustable stock.

  • Jack Burton

    Absolutely horrific…and undeniably Mossberg

  • Kyle

Is it just me or does that pistol grip look gigantic?

    • Edeco

Yes, but, credit where due, it looks really comfortable to me. Can’t be sure from a pic obviously. I’d object to a huge grip on a pistol, but with a forend and stock one doesn’t so much need dominance in all 360 degrees around the pistol grip, from the hand that’s on it.

  • If you’ve ever lied on question 11e of the 4473, this gun’s for you!

  • El Duderino

“Hey this is Bob from ATI. Can we puke ABS plastic crap all over one of your 500s and call it a special model? Great, thanks.”

  • Matt

    Let’s see model 500 not 590, no.

Pistol grip with tang safety, no.

Massive ass front blade, no rear ring, no.

Failure to remove original bead sight that you can’t possibly even use, no.

No added magazine extention on a defensive gun, no.

Thanks but I will stick with my 590a1.

  • MrWuffles

That’s almost as ugly as the Mossberg 464 Zombie edition.

  • Bill

Ruined a perfectly good shotgun. They’ll sell every one they can crank out.

  • Nashvone

With all that other crap, how could they forget a slide mounted rail?

  • ✪✪✪✪✪

SWEEt DUde!!! These two are gonna get married. I can wait for Mossberg to do this to EVERY gun they make!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE!

    • Zachary marrs

I held one of those once.

      I nearly bought it too.

      I still kinda want one…

    • Nicks87

It wouldn’t look so bad if it had more of a traditional shaped synthetic stock. Magpul… hint hint…

  • Only would appeal to those who don’t use shotguns.

  • Sianmink

Pistol grip on a mossberg just never works for me. It moves your thumb to a place that’s nowhere near the safety switch.

  • Yimmy

Mossberg…. the cheapest most gaudy over priced garbage in a major manufacturer that continues to go down hill.
