UTG continues to press hard with new product releases, this time offering a new series of extended M-LOK Handguards. The new “Super Slim” series features 7 tracks of M-LOK at the 1:30, 3, 4:30, 6, 7:30, 9, & 10:30 positions and an uninterrupted picatinny rail across the top.  All UTG PRO items are manufactured in the United States and are 922r compliant. 

A fun value-added feature include extra vent holes cut under the rail for heat dissipation and weight reduction (and an increase in bad-arseness). This is on top of added grippiness with shallow cuts in the rail between M-LOK’s at the creases. Mounting of the handguard is via allen-head screws to the barrel nut, which is easily indexed via novel grooves in the barrel nut itself.

The new series of handguards are designed to work with low-profile gas blocks only. Per UTG, there may be some compatibility issues with “re-designed or over-sized upper receivers” meaning some billet options. This is due to the anti-rotational tabs at the back of the handguard (which is something sorely missing form the JL Billet handguard we reviewed).

MSRP for the handguards is set at $154.97,  $169.97, $179.97 for the 13″, 15″, and 17″ handguards, respectively. Price includes the barrel nut, all mounting accessories, and the barrel nut wrench. The handguards are finished via standard hard-coat anodizing.

As a bonus, the handguards come with two M-LOK rails for easy accessory mounting.
