Black Friday 2015 Gun Deal Roundup (+ Poll)

Bass Pro 2015 Black Friday Deals

Bass Pro 2015 Black Friday Deals

2016 Deals Here.

Black Friday is a week away and it would not be Black Friday for me without SlickGuns giving us a roundup of all the firearm, ammunition, optics and accessory deals. This is an especially important Black Friday, being the last one before the 2016 Presidential Elections. With the elections being held a few weeks before next year’s Black Friday, I don’t hold much hope of great deals next year if an anti-gun (or even a non-pro-gun) President is elected from either party, instead I would expect people buying as much as they can at whatever prices retailers and manufacturers choose to sell at, which is what happened after the 2008 and 2012 elections (I am not making a political statement, this is just how the gun market works in this country).

Here are just some of the deals I took note of:

One of the best deals I have spotted is a $100 mail-in rebate for Remington Golden Sabre, that combined with some other coupons can get you a 250 round box for $48 !!!

Cabela’s has $100 mail-in rebate coupons for Leupold scopes.

Dick’s has a basic Ruger 10/22 for $199 (about $60 off), which is a perfect starting point to build your ultimate Ruger 10/22, as well as a minimum ~10% off all guns $1000 and under.

I am a huge Zeiss scope fan. The glass is amazing. Cabelas has a VERY tempting offer on a high-end 3-15x Zeiss Conquest. I **really** need a scope in this zoom range, and this price puts it within the I-can-just-about-afford-it price price range.

ziess deal

So what will you be buying …

Anybody know where I could get a Colt single action army (.45LC) new in box without paying outrageous markup prices?

    • Jared Duet

There have been a few Long Branch Talo models on Gunbroker in the $2200 range.

      • FrenchKiss

That’s pretty steep for a saa isn’t it?

        • Cymond

Do you want a Colt, or just a single-action revolver? Colt is gonna be pricey.

        • Jared Duet

For that one it’s close to MSRP,high but only 300 were made. Theoretically MSRP for a standard SAA is $1499 but the fact that colt seems to make less than 50 a year means that retailers can throw them on gunbroker or guns america and get top dollar.

          • FrenchKiss

Less than one a week? Why?

          • Michael Twitsucks

Keeps the prices and demand up. It’s not like Colt has much going for them these days other than selling legacy models.

          • FrenchKiss

I;m gonna look at Ruger and cimmaron.

    • DaveP.

Try GunsAmerica. Also, if you want a shooter and not just a collectible, consider a Ruger Vaquero or Blackhawk. You should be able to pick one up for maybe half the price.

      • FrenchKiss

        Aren’t colts shooters?

        • iksnilol

          Colts are usually collectors pieces.

        • DaveP

At that price, what they are is investment pieces. Fire even one cylinder’s worth and you’ve dropped the condition grade and therefore the resale value. If what you want is an investment, but a Colt. If you want a single action pistol you can carry into the field, shoot box after box of ammo through, practice your quickdraw with, and generally use instead of just admiring buy a Ruger or a Cimmarron.

    • Paul White

If you’re wedded to the Colt brand, rather than a repro, expect to pay an arm, leg, and at least one testicle. They charge a hell of a premium

      • Don Ward

Do they have to be your own arm, leg and testicle?

        Just… Idle speculation, you know…

  • Jeff Smith

Academy Sports has a Heritage .22lr revolver for $99.

    • Renegade

Ever look at the finish on those? I’m pretty sure it’s applied, by hand, by the local elementary school kids.

      • iksnilol

It’s a good gun to learn refinishing and polishing on. It costs so little you can buy a couple.

      • Jeff Smith

Haha, bad finish or not, they seem to be decent guns, especially at that price.

    • Michael Twitsucks

You sure about that? Academy Sport’s website has Heritage Arms .22LR revolvers on sale, but they’re on sale for $169 on their website.

  • Kelly Jackson

That 11-87 is looking pretty nice

  • Edeco

Might take a FNX 45 or 1911 if one totally falls into my lap since I’m 45-less. Considered the new Coonan but too weird. Otherwise I’m good.

  • ozzallos .

The manufactures are coming out with great rebate offers this year, but it’s crappy retailers absorbing that saving with their blatant mark-ups that sour a lot of deals. I’ve watched Remington products go from $650 to $850 just because of the $75 and $150 rebates in play. Kinda suspect.

    • Ed Ward

I thought the same with that “Black Friday” sale price for the legendary Ruger 10/22 granted it is the “original” model our Fathers bought for us back in the day..

    • Boss Doe

ABSO-FRAGGIN-LUTELY AGREE. Look what hapeppened w/ the SCAR 17s- as soon as FN came up w/ the new promo (free Geissele Super SCAR trigger), they immediately marked them up from $50 to $200 all around – as you said, eating up the savings/promo values. Now impossible to find anywhere – unless you want to pay $300 more of what they were selling for a month ago (before the promo went in effect).

      • BattleshipGrey

That’s horrible! Did FN get on the retailers about it? IIRC, Glock promptly put a stop to retailers snagging one of the three supplied mags and selling them separately.

  • Jared Duet

The Leupold VX-3 $100 mail-in rebate is not unique to Cabelas, it is a Leupold issued rebate. They are rolling out the VX-3i first quarter 2016.

  • Sianmink

Guess I’m picking up some Golden Sabre. Guess I’ll try HST next year.

    • Sgt. Stedenko

Rebate runs till Nov 30 on the Golden Sabes

  • Wardaddy

I got a Golden Saber deal at my LGS today. They sold Golden saber, your choice mix and match in 9mm, .40, .45, and .357 magnum for $9.99 a box. You could buy 10 boxes and use the rebate for $100…total price, about $8 in taxes! Beat that deal!

    • GoKart Mozart

Hee hee…I was wondering if someone else from NW AL would comment on that insane deal. 🙂

      • Wardaddy

I couldn’t believe what a deal it was! That’s one of the reasons I think they are the best gun store around.

  • Don Ward

I refuse to participate in the Black Friday hype.

    • Dan

Woah there’s two Mr. Wards. Hmmm…..

      • Don Ward

The other Mr. Ward is kicking it in the comment section. Time to play catch up…

  • AJ187

Slickguns has costed me more money than any other website. I tell people about it and they don’t ever check it out. It’s like they love spending extra cash on stuff. I am shopping for a 10/22 this xmas and that price is pretty standard from what i have seen in stores. I’ll be putting it in a bullpup conversion kit so yes it will be the ultimate. 🙂

  • Ed Ward

What’s amazing to me is that even despite the fact that firearms sales are once again at record levels (I thought this would be the year that finally saw a tapering off of NIC and subsequent sales–Wow did I misjudge that one as people continue to buy IMO out of blatant MISTRUST of the very “Politicians” of which we elect to enforce our laws, namely, those clearly and literally spelled out in that glorious document that stands AKA “The U.S. Constitution.” So it very well could be that prices never seem to be at “bargain-basement” like levels precisely due to continued unabated consumer demand…Happy Holidays!

    • BattleshipGrey

I just looked up on Rasmussen to see the current Congressional approval rating. It’s at 9%! I think true conservatives are finally coming to the realization that the GOP is simply Democrat Lite. Which, in terms of keeping our original Bill of Rights intact, isn’t cutting it.

      • Ed Ward

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case whereby the Republicans are sadly morphing into Democrat 2.0 which leads me to say “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with that…?” Boehner leaves and is replaced by a younger version thereof, namely, Paul “Mitt Loves Me” Ryan which maintains the status-quo…I am a Cruz guy but have to say that I will vote for any Republican POTUS Candidate if the alternative is that Anti-Gun Witch “I HATE the Second Amendment and will CONFISCATE your guns” Hillary Rodham (yes I use Bill’s Last Name for Political purposes only) Clinton!

  • Paul White

    1: your poll is closed?

2: I haven’t seen anything really good. There’s some OK gun safes and I’m planning to get one of those but mostly it’s meh. Low end guns, or guns that got marked up to be marked down again.

    • KestrelBike

1: yeah strange, maybe that polling service put the kibosh on it because it’s gun related?

2: Exactly. Not really seeing the magical deals this year, and we’re less than a week away from BF.

    • damn, I messed the poll up. Sorry guys.

  • Sgt. Stedenko

I’m getting my son a SIG 522 Commando.
Just waiting until next week to see if anybody drops the price some more before I pull the trigger.
Already bought 2,000 rounds of CCI mini mags and an assortment of Black Dog Machine 15 and 25 round magazines.

  • DIR911911 .

according to survey ,nobodies buyin’ nuttun’.

  • Geoffry K

Spent all my money on powder and primers from Powder Valley, nothing left except one brick of Winchester .22LR from BPS on Thursday, and I don’t really need it, but…..
It does come in a nice little wooden crate!

  • Joe

F Dicks sporting goods! Their gun stance should preclude even mentioning them on this site.

  • Bal256

I guess there aren’t any good deals on AR-14 rifles this year.

    • Cymond

Huh, weird. It’s a different poll now.

  • lost_dog

Can’t find the Zeiss Conquest HD5 deal (referenced in the article) in the link to the actual Cabela’s ad. Could be that I missed it (entirely possible), but I can’t find it in the ad.

    • Sergei

Me neither. Can’t even find it on Google.

  • Ryan Meyer

Where is a link to that awesome looking Nikon? I could definitely use one of those. I click on the add but do not see the HD5.

  • quraina

    I’m buying training.

  • Xavier Bleriot

    Need a 22lr rifle (1st one)….Which one should I get?

    • Don Ward

There are better .22 caliber rifles than the Ruger 10/22. But for shear ubiquitous availability, it would be hard to beat not having one. And as mentioned, just start with a plain jane offering like the one shown above for the two-hundred whatever dollars.

      • Gene

        Or get a Marlin 795. They’re 1/2 the price of a 10/22.

        • Paul White

are they easy to mount a scope on? I’m thinking of a .22 and Gander has that in their ad. I’d prefer a bolt but haven’t seen one

    • Yimmy

Do yourself a favor and pickup a bolt action like the savage mkii w an accutrigger. You’ll never have more fun.

    • iksnilol

If you want a semi auto, I’d recommend a Marlin 795. They are inexpensive (about half the price of a 10/22), more accurate and can be upgraded cheaply (there’s an aftermarket trigger and triggerguard, some good 25 round mags and some stocks).

Though I’d also recommend a bolt action like the Savage MK2.

  • jeff k

199 mabey for a synthetic stock version. dicks is selling a wooden stock 10/22 for 199 thats not bad actually

  • Dave D

You left off my main purchase. A new can! Bought my first suppressors on a Black Friday and looking to add at least a new Silencerco Sparrow 22 can this year. Local shop just e-mailed out their prices from the week and now just waiting to see what Silencer Shop is going to do. Might be able to get a new 556 can. (not likely but a guy can hope)

  • 2ThinkN_Do2

Bought the pistol a few weeks back, bought new grips for one Sunday (Pre-Blk Friday Sale), bought the Ammo last night (Remington Rebate), now I can enjoy my day at work on Black Friday and won’t have to fight crowds in the morning before I work : ) Hope Everyone has a Marvelous Thanksgiving!

  • Christopher Armour

    Two pistols!
