Our good friend Ronaldo Olive wrote …

Illegal firearms seized from criminal hands worldwide come in an immense variety of shapes… and looks!. This AMD-65, the Hungarian variant of the AK family, was recently taken from drug traffickers by Rio de Janeiro Military Police’s GETEM (a motorcycle tactical patrol unit of the BPChq, the Shock Police Battalion), calling the attention not only for its unusual origin but also for its colorful external wrapping.

This AMD-65 was also recently captured in Brazil, this time by BOPE (Special Police Operations Battalion) ….

Smuggled from the US? It’s got an extended muzzle device and a Tapco mag.

Also, that subcompact Glock in the picture looks like it has a select fire back plate.

    • kalashnikev

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Obvious US commercial guns.

      • And still illegal as hell in Brazil. That select fire backplate isn’t meant for unauthorized people especially criminals.

  • Evan Jay

Agreed Ken, that Glock does appear to have a select fire backplate. I believe its made by Great Lake’s Tactical. I think there was an article here on TFB about the selector. That 1911 looks very strange too, maybe a Crimson Trace or something similiar? The grip looks huge.

That’s a double stack gun. You can see the mag under the pistol.

  • wetcorps

Neat. Wouldn’t feel out of place in a Die Antwoord clip 🙂

    That’s hot.

  • iksnilol

    I like that wrapjob.

  • Ronaldo Olive

My first guess is that the wrapped gun used to belong to an LSD dealer…

Just got these pics of some NIB AMD-65s seized by Customs and Federal Police authorities at the Port of Santos, São Paulo State, in August, 2013. A weapons load of 22 AK and AR-15 type rifles, plus ammo, was inside a container coming from Miami, FLA, hidden inside matresses. Maybe for a more comfortable cruise…

The CS:GO weapon skin economy strikes again!

Tacti cooler brings some Bling into there SBRs.

It looks like something out of CHAPPiE by Neill Blomkamp.

Not for nothing, but that’s pretty good. Sometimes the idea of camo isn’t to blend in to the surrounding its just to make something look like what it isn’t. Passing over it quickly enough details get lost so that it doesn’t scream GUN right away.

For what I imagine Brazil to look like, maybe it’s a smart choice 🙂
