Magpul Now Shipping 10 Round AK MOE Mags

Magpul just released their new 10 round PMAG 10 AK/AKM MOE 7.62x39mm Magazines. Their lightweight and budget friendly 10 round mags fit pretty much all Kalashnikov pattern rifles and pistols chambered in 7.62x39mm, including the AK-47, AKM variants, AKS, Yugo AKs and the SIG556R. Just like with their 30 round AK/AKM MOE magazines their shorter 10 round versions are made out of impact and crush resistant polymer bodies and feature a removable floor plate that’s flared for better handling and a low-friction anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower for increased reliability as well as a stainless steel spring. It weights in at just 4 ounces and is only 4.8 inches in length. The 10 round PMAG 10 AK/AKM MOE magazine also counts as three US compliant parts for 922r purposes.

It’s essentially a shorter version of their 30 round AK/AKM MOE magazines, so no stainless steel rear locking lug and reinforced front lug and spine like with their new AK/AKM Gen M3 magazines unfortunately. However I’ve used their first generation AK/AKM MOE magazines extensively and I haven’t had any issues with them. Why would someone need only a 10 round mag you ask? 10 round mags are easier to use when shooting in prone with a bipod or off a shooting bench. Also there’s states like California that restrict magazine capacities to just 10 rounds.

As with all Magpul’s PMAGs they’re made right here in the USA, they’re available only in black and retail for just $12.95 at Magpul.com. Rumor has it Magpul will be releasing a 5.45 version of their MOE mags at the 2016 SHOT Show coming up in January.
